Doctors have saved my life 3 times from certain death if I had gone without their professional expertise...it's hardly "blind trust" to trust a medical team that saved your life and improved your quality of life over the next decade. Choices....what happened 90 years ago has nothing to do with modern medicine and no doctor has sprayed my kids with DDT or promoted smoking in my 70 years but when I was young, many smoked. Vast majority of pandemic deaths were anti vaccination stubborn people who could have been saved if they listened to the science. You can drink all the whole milk and raw food you want..smoke all you want...go without masks during a pandemic...nobody will make you be smart about public safety if you just aren't smart about public safety..if you're lucky...a doctor or nurse might save your life too. Masks kept me alive in the middle of the SARS epidemic in 2003, that and hand washing and bleaching surfaces...many people died all around Taipei and when Covid showed up...they kept it to a minimum instantly with masking, bleaching and handwashing...made their own vaccine instead of waiting for ours. single digit deaths a few hours from Wuhan on an island with 23 million people in 3 crowded cities. A miraculous defense against covid....doctors there knew what to expect rather than politicize it like Trump's people did. We could have saved so many more lives had people come together at the outset instead of starting a pissing contest. Same people strangely are still trying to start a pissing contest over vaccinations and masks.

Masks didn't do shit. I post dozens of studies that found no benefit to it. Fauci even admitted in a private email that they did no good, then suddenly changed stance on it, and it became a kind of political hockey puck, and a talisman for those on "tribe left".

 

Masks save lives of people exposed to airbourne viruses as well as house painters, surgeons, factory workers, nurses, dentists, firefighters, demolition crews, all kinds of people...you are trained to use masks to protect yourself from chemical weapons or fires in the military. You don't have to wear one...go sand some fiberglass without one and tell me again they don't do anything...because of internet articles you found? These are common sense measures but man...some of you just don't have a lick of common sense. Volcanic ash can kill you if you breath it unmasked...go to Hawaii and walk around for a couple weeks breathing those glass shards into your lungs and tell me how macho it makes you feel. The countries with the best survival rates on earth from the pandemic were the first to mask up..Taiwan, Denmark and New Zealand...the stubborn places lost millions of savable people..choices..I wore a mask during SARS and during Covid and I didn't get either...scientific method works. I have many friends in the medical field in Taiwan and they all believed in precautions from Airbourne viruses. All survived, none got covid and they were right to trust the science...Safety protocols for public safety weren't exclusive to America...a lot of scientists believed in the Taiwanese approach to battling a pandemic. Only here did reality TV stars become the voice of a rebellion against safety precautions. Try cleaning out a painters particulate mask filters and imagine that shit coating your lungs sometime...right

 

What about Halloween masks?! Children love them!! How dare you! What about ski masks if you are skiing?!?! Now you hate skiing?!?!?!?!?!

Or are you just trying to muddy up the argument because you don’t want to address the issue of them being ineffective against Covid? Really ridiculous comment man. Nobody said anything about dust masks for dust or SCBAs for firefighters. You are just yelling just to yell.

 

@johnnyboy I wore the mask...for SARS and Covid and painting houses and fighting fires..and in the military...masks save lives....no yelling needed..my doctors wear them too and they aren't painting houses...so does the dentist...guess why? my four year old grandson would know ski masks and Halloween masks are not protective gear...I guess you're homeschooled or just insulting me from your mom's basement again..let's simplify it and say masks for airborne shit that can get in your lungs...

There are actually people who specialize in the use of masks and what they are effective in preventing, and they'll tell you they are basically worthless for airborne viruses. Imagine for example, walking into a restaurant where people are smoking, but through one of those cloth masks, would you expect to not smell smoke?

There are masks that are able to filter out viruses, and they look like this. But you didn't see anyone walking around with these on did you?

 

That's because you're not good at analyzing things.

 

That is for airborne virus . COVID is spread as much or more via droplets as airborne.

So any mask that prevents or impedes droplets from entering your mouth reduces transmission rates.

 

If these anti maskers needed surgery, would they want surgical team to wear masks as usual? Or dispense with them and breathe germs into open wound?

COVID is an airborne virus. You just admitted you are wrong with our realizing it.

 

If you don't believe a chain link fence will keep wasps out of your yard, you're an anti fencer.

 

It is both airborne AND droplet spread. Therefore anything that reduces contact with droplets also reduces the potential for infection.

 

The virus still gets into the air and can remain airborne for quite awhile. So even if someone were infected but "asymptomatic", the mask is doing nothing.

It would catch a sneeze, but droplets are safer in the sense that they fall to the ground. The whole mask thing was a lie.

 

When Fauci said masks weren't effective, he was repeating the known science. He even admitted to this in a private email that was FOIAd. Masks were just a way to ramp up fear, and to get people to take his shot. "If you get vaccinated, you get to go outside with no mask boys and girls"
