Those were all published studies. And the study you posted doesn't mean that masks are effective at preventing transmission.

The experiment was conducted by having people breath into a machine, and the masks will redirect the flow of air, but that doesn't mean they're trapping viral particles. They are just getting redirected along the seams of the mask.

Look at this demonstration of smoke being exhaled through various masks. Now imagine that smoke is full of viral particles. It's being redirected somewhat, but still getting into the air. And this is generous because virus particles are much smaller than smoke.




Explain how a mask like that is going to stop a virus particle.

 

Which is why both parties wearing masks makes such a big difference

The masks also made it less likely that people would touch something and touch their mouths and noses which is a great way to spread many illnesses. Unless you disagree with that science as well.

when people refuse to wear masks during a pandemic there's a good chance they breath on somebody close to them or cough or sneeze...probably a senior citizen in a checkout line that could have died ...that's a remote possibility. It's good to keep distance from unmasked whack jobs during a pandemic...I saw one go into a rage at a clerk in Bimart during the pandemic that asked him to wear a mask. Poor old gal at the checkout counter was really shook up by the asshole ..as if some conspiracy theory boogie men were running a con on the entire globe and every continent at the same time for a profit! Yup...whack jobs gonna whack. Really sorry you lost that many folks bro...that sucks.

 

Professional just means you get a paycheck for what you do. where you need to trust the science is where it's been proven to work successfully so you can filter out the paycheck professionals from the actual professionals that have done something in the field.choices. I've tried bad dentists before but when I found a good one that one I really trust I stuck with her. I trust both my medical teams and they've been incredible in fixing my heart and keeping me healthy. Same with finding a good auto mechanic.

Almost everyone acknowledges that there was/is a virus going around. The virus killed a lot of people.

But the number of deaths were exacerbated because of poor public health leadership.

Instead of following the scientific process and allowing Doctors to communicate and the freedom to 'practice' medicine to find out what works, authorities shut down the feedback loop and censored anyone tried to have an open dialogue.

At this point -> it's important that we look back and actually learn from what happened. There were a lot of things that were good... but there was a hell of a lot of stuff that was wrong & incorrect.

Finding trusted professionals is hard but important.

But I still never just take their word for it. I want to see the image of my teeth showing where the cavity is.
I want to see the crack in the CV joint or where the tires are wearing thin before replacing them.

I could MAYBE buy this argument if people were wearing masks properly & replaced them with a new mask every time they took it off.

The vast majority of people were wearing the same mask more than 2 days in a row... meaning both the inside and outside of the mask were most likely compromised.

For MOST people, wearing the masks had negligible benefit.

 

Not in the countries that successfully contained the spread of COVID and in the case of Taiwan...both SARS in 2003 and COVID at it's outbreak...23 million people...single digit deaths in the case of COVID most SARS deaths were doctors and nurses and elderly..it took longer to contain than COVID...I think they had 7 COVID deaths at the outbreak ..I'm not sure of the exact number but it was single digits..I think New Zealand had 1 at the outbreak....both had mask mandates...N95 masks for COVID are designed to only be used twice...the outside out for protecting from incoming particulates and the inside out if you are symptomatic to keep them from spreading outwards. Most people don't even know that simple fact...masks that don't work are cloth bandanas or painters one ply face masks. All this info was distributed early on if not for a huge anti mask movement by MAGA enthusiasts in the US. We ranked really poorly in responding to the pandemic globally. All because of stubborn partisan bs in my view.
