Realgm Phx board claiming Joe is talking with PHX about Deni and Duop for Nurk and draft stuff. I seriously would boycott the team and stop supporting the organization if he is stupid enough to do that. They claim the

another tweet from said Phx clown. Joe wants two frp and Phx only offering 1. This simply cannot be true. POR paid better frp for deni a few months ago now giving him away for what may well be picks near the end of the draft. No fucking way. No way

    LOL.

I mean, I'd sell high on Deni if someone blew us away, but them talking about that and saying 1 pick for Deni(when all the picks they have are shit) when we traded 2, and then them thinking Nurk is expiring. Come on.

So the Bucks need to shed some salary before they can get under the second apron and be able to aggregate salary.

Connaughton is pretty much exactly what they need to shed. We just can't absorb him. It's too bad because our TPE isn't quite enough. I don't think we're the team that's working to help facilitate.

I think Simons will go to one place, Grant another, and RWIII likely to another. I think we're stuck with Ayton until next season.

Here's what I'd like to see

    upload_2025-1-22_0-35-13.png

I just want a pick for Simons. The Hawks aren't doing too bad this year so the pick will be somewhere in the late teens. I'd still be happy to have that. I'm just looking for salary filler. Barnes seems to me to be the best fit.

Hoping to convince the Kangz to take Grant. Two picks that are protected and filler. I'd probably take one pick honestly.

    And last but not least

    upload_2025-1-22_0-39-27.png

Pick from either Phoenix or OKC. Not going to be a great pick, but still a pick.

Seems like they'd have to give up quite a lot to be able to get Lavine back in a deal that makes sense.

I thought the Bucks couldn't combine salaries to make a trade

If the trade gets them below the second apron, the aggregation prohibition is abated.

That feels like kids making up rules to a game as they go along.

This is why it’s hard for me to play four square with my kids.

While all of that indeed sounds nice, there is no way those teams are accepting any of those deals (maybe a miniscule chance for the Houston deal if it's the OKC pick in the late 20s, but I still think seconds are more likely). San Antonio actually likes Barnes, and he's been a contributor for them. He's had a far more efficient year than Simons. They aren't adding a decent ATL first rounder on top of that. While the Kings might be open to Huerter/Lyles for Grant swap, they aren't trading a lightly protected first to make it happen, let alone two. Grant's contract runs two years longer than Huerter's at nearly double the money.

While I am all for maintaining hope for a transactional miracle, I get worried that trades like these will become fans' expectations. If so, I can almost guarantee that we will be let down.

Kinda my point. Somehow, they think Lavine would have a big impact, but they'd have to give up three major contributors just to be able to bring him in. Even if Smith could somewhat fill the Portis/Lopez void, it is still way too much out.

not worth considering...especially the Nurk-->Portland bullshit.

    "plugged in"....LOL....into what?

Portland could take Connaughton. He'd fit into their non-tax MLE, But that would put Portland over the tax line

I wish I shared your optimism on the players being traded away.

    good post

I've mentioned it before but I remember all the optimism a year ago that the Blazers were going to have a big, roster-changing trade deadline. Blazers ended up trading a 2nd for Banton

I'm seeing the same optimism again; might be a little less hope and more wishful thinking this time around. But I'm skeptical the Blazers do much at all. 'Hope' I'm wrong

Simons deal - Barnes makes no sense for the Spurs. He's 32 and they have Keldon Johnson. Simons fits their window much better and he can space the floor for Wemby as a creator. The Spurs are getting the by far the best player in that deal. Honestly I don't care if it's Barnes. We just need salary filler.

Grant deal - Kings are 8th in the conference. They had some rumblings about Fox wanting out. They need to win now. Huerter is terrible. Legitimately terrible. 42% from the field and 30% from three. Once again, the Kings are getting the best player in the deal and we need to get compensated. Lyles and Huerter are not compensation.

This kind of reaction from people about trade proposals drives me nuts. It's a starting point. Coming up with possible teams that players would fit on. And often, REAL trades don't make sense and are extremely lopsided. If someone had come in here and proposed the Norm/Clippers deal we would have all laughed and said it was flat out stupid..... and yet it happened. If you don't like the trade idea, tweak it. If you think it's impossible, fine.
