Would be happy with an unprotected first and a swap.

That's way too greedy. If that's the asking price then neither one of them will ever get traded. I'd be more than thrilled with a protected 1st and Rui.

Where? I would fully expect them to play it off if he did and they kept him. Maybe he didn't, but you look at his exit interview and the Cronin comments on the off-season omitting him, as well as subtle hints from reporters that later walked it back...

It wouldn't be much of a surprise if Simons asked out, and I don't blame him. He's still young (he'll turn 26 this June), and probably doesn't want to be going into his final (stupid large) contract when this team is finally (hopefully) doing good and having to start planning how how they will be paying out big contracts to Shaedon, DC, Scoot (hopefully he's earned it), Deni and whoever they draft in this upcoming draft.

Are you suggesting we should neuter the dog?

Yes as I said all last summer, once Scoot improved enough to gain the confidence of his teammates, then ideally he should start and Ant should come off the bench. And I think that time is now. Now I know the argument is Ant makes too much money as a 6th man, but I say bullshit to that. Both Beal and Aaron Gordon make more than Ant and their fans are fine with it. They have played well off the bench recently. If they can't get value for Ant I would make that move after the deadline.

I can see him wanting to go to Orlando because he would fit great next to Suggs. And they are in desperate need of 3-point shooting.
But on most teams, he would come off the bench anyway. He needs to accept that. Of course, it is much easier to accept on a winning team.

The bottom line is to trade him for value (and ending contracts) or bring him off the bench where he would help our bench. If he doesn't like it then let him walk next summer.

Everybody keeps linking Sidery tweets but what I have seen online is that he doesn't have sources and he's not a real reporter?

Definitely seems like more of an aggregator that doesn't credit where he gets his info from

Before I throw out all of the good sense that I have right now, expecting Joe to disappoint and still have an absolute meltdown... unless of course Joe surprises all of us with some good moves that make sense for the rebuild.

Art of the deal, ask high and find what the market value is. It my not be what we want but it seems like Joes been asking a lot I expect him to settle around market value.

Joe and Chauncey have one year left after this season, so I still think it will be the same core group ,with maybe one vet traded, if at all. They know they must start the upward playoff trend next year, they are not going to start another 3-5 year plan. Those two jobs are on the line. They are in the 3-4th year of their original plan. Yeah, there will be another 19 year old drafted but he won't be the difference make either. If they get decent offer for Simons I see them taking it. But in my opinion Grant and Ayton stay.
