Lovely moves by Trump in pulling security details from Bolton, Pompeo and others who are known to still be on Iran's hit list. Trump: 'Say nasty things about me, or fail to kiss the ring appropriately and you can just go die.'
In Trump's defense, those are an awful group of people who have dragged America into war on more than one occasion.
So you expose them to a sentence of death because you don't agree with their policy decisions? I wonder if Trump is willing to accept that same standard once he's out of office.
Serious question...Bolton is a hawk who wanted war with Iran and North Korea we know but didn't succeed with his plan...Pompeo as Secretary of Defense focused a lot on Taiwan relations and keeping China out of Taiwan. Both Trump appointees who broke ranks with him for different reasons but what wars do you think they dragged us into? Multiple wars have been going on since the dawn of history but I'm failing to attach any to those two guys. Maybe I'm missing something here? Bolton has been a talking head in the media since he was fired, Pompeo faded into the shadows. Both testified against Trump during the Jan 6th investigation. Taking away their security is not a dignified move by the president given Iran has threatened both with assassinations whether I agree with them on policy or not.
I honestly think Ulbricht's case should have been thrown out anyway. The agent who arrested/made the case against him were corrupt as hell and stole millions of his bitcoin. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they fabricated evidence to get him out of the way. You did miss something. Coups don't happen in a vacuum. Thousands die because of it. And those citizens in those countries are left in much worse situations because of it.
Nobody says they didn't agree with the Nazis' "policy decisions." They are terrorists plain and simple. They should be treated as such.
Pompeo was Trump’s Secretary of Defense. Anything he did was under Trump’s direction/reponsibility. Same with Bolton. He was Trump’s National Security Advisor. I guess Trump should cancel his own security detail and take his chances with the Iranians. The fact that the US has traditionally protected people like this as administrations change is just one of a multitude of things that separate us from dictatorships and banana republics.
As a war vet myself I differentiate between instigating a coup from being dragged into a war....Bolton never succeeded in starting a war which Congress has to declare...covert actions are a different form of instigation. I've no doubt Bolton would have loved to go to war with Iran and N Korea. He didn't though. I'm sure he was covertly involved in the South Sudan Civil war as well as in the Congo's battle for the cobalt mines...places the world media just doesn't pay any attention to. I don't like Bolton or Pompeo for the record nor trust either of them. The one good thing Pompeo did was stand up to China in defense of Taiwan. That's a plus in my world.
We ARE the reason for dictatorships and banana republics around the globe. Again, not in a vacuum. These people take money to push war with our citizens and tax dollars for their benefit.
Bolton was in favor of the Iraq and Afghan wars and did his hardest to make it happen. He wanted Iran included which he did not get. Not a good guy. A war monger and terrorist with every definition of the word.
You miss the entire point. Trump is acting in a way that puts these people in extreme danger. No matter what you think of these people, Trump isn’t judge and jury.
Does their security not cost tax payers? Maybe don't push to commit terrorism around the world and expect to hide behind your tax payer-funded security detail. Pulling their security doesn't make him judge or jury.
Like here's the thing that baffles me... they said Biden was too old. But Trump will be older than Biden at the end of his term. Yet they want to have a 3rd term for him? Holy shit. If you voted for Trump, know you got played and you can not apologize for causing the hurt you put on the people you claimed to love. If you loved them, you wouldn't have voted for Trump. This is a fact, not an opinion.
Not going to happen. They would need a 2/3 vote in both chambers plus 38 states to ratify it. Just a Trump loyalist kissing ass.
