look....I'm not a Cronin fan, at all, but as far as the trades he's executed:

Cronin outgoing --> Dame, CJ, Powell, RoCo, Nance, Nurkic, Little, Hart, Brogdon

Cronin incoming --> Grant, Ayton, Timelord, Thybulle, Camara, Avdija, Murray, 2029 1st, two swaps

yeah, guys like Hart & Brogdon could be on both lists, but I'm talking about the current team

the incoming value is quite a bit more than "nothing". Now, If you tend to think that Grant, Ayton, Timelord & Thybulle shouldn't be on the team, I'd agree. And that would leave the outgoing list above vs Camara, Avdia, the 2029 pick and the swaps, then the trade looks a bit one-sided in a talent equation, except of course for the cap-impact

I have long said the Dame return was fine.

I have a problem with everything else.

We'll see if Joe is even remotely competent in the next week and a half. If we still have both Jerami and Ant then Joe is pure shit. If we still have both Aytong and Williams and if Williams is moved and it's for too little again Joe is pure shit.

This roster makes no fucking sense right now, just like every roster Joe has built. If he can't for the first time in his three years straighten out a roster so it seems to have a meaningful direction I will be furious but not surprised.

Again dude by his own admission hadn't put together a roster that made sense... he hasn't said that his year but if he thinks this roster makes sense then he's worse than I thought. Up until now I questioned Joe's ability to execute but if this deadline comes and goes without major roster reconstruction then I'll wonder if Joe even knows what a cohesive roster looks like. He'll have proven himself to be shitty in practice and in theory.

    I agree.

in a way it reminds me of when Olshey has agreed to trade Plumlee for Okafor; Philly even held out Okafor for a couple of games. But then, at the last minute, Denver added a first to their Nurkic offer and Olshey took that deal instead. But he was considering Okafor a better value than Nurkic until that first arrived in his mailbox.

Doesn't sound good. Basically saying what most here have been. Ayton is a horrible contract. Simons and Grant have appeal but the price would have to be right. Reath is the most likely to be dealt. An opinion piece but its rare to hear anything about this team in the media, especially since they are 1 year away from contending...

I keep checking this thread to see exciting trade news and just see the same old arguments about Cronin's incompetence. Starting to have some sympathy for the Thread Police.

He doesn't know shit is the summary... he didn't sight any sourcing, it was like reading a post on here. I know Fischer is connected but it sounded like we're either doing a really good job of keeping what we're doing quiet or we're not doing anything.

Fischer posits that Ant has value around the league if we were to shop him. He waffles about if Jerami does. He says Ayton doesn't with his contract then seems to surprise himself with a realization that Ayton is expiring next season. Then says he wouldn't surprised if we only move Duop and doesn't say what it would be fore. Then he says maybe we'll bring back Nurk and one of the three firsts the Suns just got in return for Rob.

A brief stream of consciousness with not substance between talks about other teams where he mentions things he's actually heard. Jake obviously doesn't have any sources in our organization or if he does he's doing them a favor by smoke screening that we don't care to give us leverage and he doesn't seem to be hearing anything about us from his sources from elsewhere around the league... again unless he's doing us a favor and saying that we are cool with things the way they are just to give us leverage if some teams actually want our guys.

It's a little disturbing because this roster is directionless... there current trajectory seems to be mid to late lotto and holding onto guys that just don't fit the rebuild but lets hope that's all a smokescreen to actually get something meaningful done in the next week and a half.

there is a 13 page thread on the Orlando forum about a Simons-->Orl trade that was started way back in November

this link starts at page 11 of the thread and runs thru and after yesterday's game:

    https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2414317&start=200

I'm assuming everybody can read the posts, but maybe you have to be a member

if the consensus of the posters reflect the F.O's thinking than it's time for Cronin to strike!

Fingers crossed that the Orlando front office likes Ant as much as these fans and that Joe doesn't like him even more... ugh, Joe probably likes him even more.

I'd love to somehow land Bobby Portis. I love his energy and mean streak. I like Bobby more than Grant.

I just don't get what some of you guys in here think this is. Bobby Portis is fucking awesome and if we were trying to win now he'd be at the top of my list of guys we should try and get but we are in a rebuild and Bobby turns 30 next month... that dude wins games and I don't know who the fuck would want to sit out the second half of a season in the name of tanking when they're on the other side of 30.

This shit right here is just setting me up for a meltdown if Ant is still here in a little under two weeks from now. Trying not to get my hopes up but Orlando makes so much sense for Ant but it has also made sense for Ant since a year ago. Fingers crossed, breath not being held.

First of all, i'll never be a "Tank" guy, but you do you.

I want the best team on the floor we can put on the floor. I said i loved Portis and that i like him better than Grant and would like to have him on the Blazers.

If we could get rid of Grants contract, get Bobby Cheaper and have him finish his career here, i'd be all in.

But if you want the team to throw in the towel and lose the rest of their games for a chance to maybe get the number one pic, good for you
