We’re 17-28 and 6 games behind the 10th spot. In 2016-17, we were 18-27 and ended up with the 8th seed outright! Let’s see how long this win streak lasts. Anyone know our record is when Clingan starts? Did I just jinx us?
We’ll be just bad enough to not to make the playoffs and just good enough not to get a good pick. oh the joys of being a Blazer fan. Win streak will end tomorrow when OKC rocks us by at least 25
So we’re 20-29. I’m having so much fun watching this team. We can absolutely finish 41-41. That’s my hope. Whether or not we make the play-in, it would give the team confidence going into next year. Like Houston last year. And there’s always a good player that can be found at #11 or wherever we’d pick in the draft.
Winning the play in would be a colossal mistake. This draft is supposed to be loaded. If we lost our 1st this year to Chicago....yikes.
The two big star of Luka/Fox have a huge impact at the edge of the playin and l ottery bubble. Spurs are probably likely jumping into the playin. They added Fox and lost nobody of significance. Mavs are close to a lock to miss the playin now, they are one game out of 11th, have players like Lively openly questioning the trade, other like Kyrie sitting out, and just lost by 40. Warriors have really struggled since the fluky hot start. Kings fired their coach and lost depth with Huerter types. LaVine doesn't have time to learn how to play well with new teammates. Probably ultimately comes down to us, Warriors, Kings for playin spot #10. Were in the worst spot in the standings but have played by far the best ball of all teams over the last few weeks. All three teams have some good positives but major concerns as well.
Winning is not meaningless. You guys need to consider how much “better” this is for our young guys than intentionally losing. I’m about done having the conversation. We’ve been doing this all year. And no, a random chance at a random 18 year old doesn’t take precedent over our ENTIRE FRANCHISE. winning with CJ/Dame being your only talent, constantly rotating mediocrity around them - now that’s meaningless. Get to the playoffs just to get swept cause truly your game plan sucks every night, now that’s meaningless. Playing isoball with short guards that are easy to shut down with any level of team defense, now that’s meaningless. Let em cook for the love of God. That is all.
Nobody is suggesting that the young players intentionally lose. The criticism is on management not structuring the team to better take advantage of the opportunity to rebuild.
