I think all police should be given houses in the cities that they work. As should all teachers. That should be part of their compensation package. I'd be all for converting that business space they're trying to fill up into multi-use and forcing all police, city workers and teachers to live in Portland. But that has nothing to do with forcing people to come into an office. Which is an absolute waste of space and productivity, unless required by the job. But then that should be determined on a job by job basis. If downtown Portland can't come back without arbitrarily forcing people to be there then it doesn't need to come back. You need to put things in downtown Portland that make people WANT to be there.
Someone is working hard coming up with all these evil things. The people who look at Auschwitz and see a role model.
Wilson was born and raised in St Johns. He knows the plight of Portland well. He’s not some politician that grew up in Lake Oswego or Gresham. He grew up in the heartbeat of the city. Went to Roosevelt. It means a lot.
Btw, St Helens is the most backwards, fucked up suburb that Portland has (I know some might think it’s a stretch to call a suburb). There’s been a major meth problem going on there 30+ years and drive a couple miles west into the woods and you legit have inbreeding going on. Kind of apropos that’s where PPD primarily resides.
Yes, that as well. Seems to be happening in Vancouver as well. Which is gross. There was even a couple instances of that kind of shit going on when I was in high school. My chemistry teacher in high school who was a complete douche went to jail for it.
I post in the main forum occasionally. Mostly jokes, of course, and that's why I rake in the big mod-bucks. barfo
To become noticed on the main board, you need a theme, a gig. I recommend the oldest trick in the book, the anti-Little Scooter routine. Just say something once per week, and everyone will think of you as a basketball poster. John Wayne taught it to me.
Barfo's sole purpose of posting here is not to take issue with what other people post. In my opinion, it's a pretty clear difference.
So, the latest Don-trocity has the potential to be a doozy. Freezing all federal loans and grants to eliminate all traces of “wokeness”, DEI, environmental, and any other non-MAGA viewpoint is an unprecedented Executive Branch power grab. Cut the student loans and Pell grants until universities are forced to adopt the right group-think. Rental assistance programs being used by minorities? Toss them in the streets. Blue states won’t toe the line on abortion, sanctuary cities, etc.? Let’s see how they like losing a third of their budgets. Should be some interesting court cases while the people suffer.
Haven't yet seen all details. Does this freeze Veterans Administration? Federal aid to police? Will have to hear legal experts but if Congress allocates money can president in effect veto after the law passed?
