I'm having difficulty understanding what you're trying to say here. Are you suggesting that the Spurs would value Fox more highly than Castle, and that they would benefit from a Castle+filler for Fox trade? If so, I'm simply going to have to agree to disagree.
IMO yes I’m taking the known commodity over the unknown rookie. I like and value Fox highly. Castle looks like a somewhat average prospect. I just mean, if they avoid having to shell out multiple picks by parting with Castle instead, then it would make sense. I would love the Blazers to go after Fox but it just doesn’t fit the timeline.
I'd love to try to sell Simons to S.A. as a cheaper fox alternative. Younger, much better shooter. Not the same scorer and playmaker but still can go off. Would also come much cheaper than Fox
Agreed. I originally thought SAS would be a good Ant candidate. Fox/Trae are worth their wait just no one tell them. Sell them ours
Fox will not be a Spur without Castle and picks going to Sac, IMO. Fox has another year on his deal after this. Spurs can be smart and speed up their contending timeline with Wemby/Fox or hope Castle becomes Fox. I was never personally high on Castle. Sac in no hurry. No need to take on trash or sell Fox for pennies on the dollar. Off season not too far away to assess roster and make trades.
Interesting comparison They're pretty similar. Simons is younger and most likely will be cheaper when his contract is up.
Are you of the opinion that every trade scenario that doesn't actually come to fruition is inherently unrealistic?
Looks like a good guy for the Blazers to hold onto. Brings some much needed offense, and after a rough start to the year, is really finding his groove.
DeAndre Ayton for Brandon Ingram works straight across. Most fans don’t like it but that doesn’t mean that it’s not realistic. It’s been floated a couple times. The Pelicans do need a center.
It would be a risky move IMO. Can we re-sign him? I am sure some fans would be happy just dumping DA, but I don't think we need to move him as he will have an ending contract next year. I do like what BI brings to the court My question is can he stay on the court? He seems to get a lot of ankle sprains. Would he resign for less than the max? I would probably risk it. I would prefer to give them Grant but they have plenty of Forwards. When healthy the guy is good. Does he fit in with Deni and Camara? I think so.
so, just let Ayton's contract expire and he walks after next season? why wait? Ingram's contract expires in 5 months. At minimum it would clear 35.5M in cap-space this summer Pels wouldn't do it anyway as it would put them way over the 1st apron and maybe over the 2nd apron
but look what it would do to them next season...it puts them way over the 1st apron and close to breaching the 2nd apron (after adding the salaries for their 1st and Milwaukee's 1st). it's around 203-204M
Rip City Project posted the same trade proposal I came up with. Funny. https://ripcityproject.com/grade-trade-proposal-simons-out-west-portland-reunites-ex-blazer
I think we move RWIII and (hopefully) Grant before the deadline. I don't think Simons is traded. Here's some updated ideas: Houston - supposedly the Rockets really really badly want RWIII. Trade that includes Grant - we can hopefully turn around and flip Adams somewhere else. Trade without Grant
