I'm mad for the Mavs fans. If I were a Mavs fan, they should boycott that team and no one show up for the next home game. Let them play in an empty arena. There has to be something else going on, this doesn't make sense at all.
Once again, an NBA superstar ends up in LA. This is why Portland will never win another title. It’s a two-tier system, and Portland has always been on the bottom tier.
I think Luka’s lack of conditioning and his injuries must have made the idea of paying him all that money unappetizing for the Mavericks. Still, it’s an almost unthinkable trade, because players like Doncic just don’t come around very often. A shocker.
Does anyone have the latest NBA 2K game? Would even NBA 2K reject this trade, if submitted from the Lakers to the Mavs?
Apparently none! They approached the Lakers alone. WTabsoluteF? Undiscussed loser in all this: LeBron. This is like Jordan/Pippen... wearing concrete boots. He's got to be either thinking retirement or asking for a trade. That team would be one of the worst defensively in history.
Apparently some NBA player texted with a reporter: "imagine how much the Mavs have to hate Luka to do this". They certainly fucked him out of his SuperMax.
Don't beat yourself up unless Luka reverses his current steady progression into Hot Plate Williams. If he gets mad enough to get into shape then this is Pau Gasol all over (minus the other team getting Marc Gasol). Anyone got any recent photos of Luka? Maybe he's been on an all-milkshake diet behind the scenes to put pressure on the Mavs.
Honestly if I’m the Lakers I trade LeBron now get a couple young players to play with Luka and if possible 1st rounder. If im not mistaken Lakers have like one 1st rounder over next five years. When LeBron falls off who do they pair with Luka? Lakers aren’t contenders now not without any bigs? Also think Luka can opt out soon or contracts up soon. Everyone acting like Lakers won but I don’t see how they can build around Luka
It's the behind closed doors nature of the trade that is so concerning. If they open up Luka to the highest bidder, no way do Lakers end up with him - and everyone knows it. There is some outside chance that the league does not sign off on the trade.
I hate to give air to the Daily Mail, which is a horrendous right-wing rag, but in the service of Luka-bashing... The inside story on Luka Doncic's ballooning weight and the Mavs-Lakers trade that cost him $345m deal
Doncic being traded shouldn't surprise anyone here, really, the guy doesn't play a lick of D and Ive seen him take as much time off as Ayton. Also, Dallas know's they need a defensive 5 to compete with others in their division and conference.
The names are big but the contract context means both the Lakers and Mavs are treading water with this trade.
Dream on - David Stern is dead. Also I read somewhere that they did offer Doncic to at least one other team, who turned them down. San Antonio for Wemby? TWO WEEKS AGO! Who says FOs can't keep secrets?
When you hire an NBA agent as your GM and he's networked around the league, it can work in your favor. Nico and Rob go back aways.
