The one thing that Simons is supposed to be better at than Scoot is SHOOTING. He's not shooting better than Scoot. Over the last 10 games Scoot is out shooting Simons. For the season Simons is BARELY putting up a better TS% than Scoot.

    He's a worse defender.

He's not a better shooter than Scoot right now.

    He's a worse passer.

    Start Scoot Henderson.

Since January 1st, Scoot is Scoring more efficiently than EVERYONE on the roster using True Shooting percentage as the metric.

That's great, but what about Scoot's crappy 3-point shooting? He's shooting 28% on threes right?

Since January 1st Scoot is tied with Anfernee Simons for the best 3-point shooting percentage on the team. I'm calling it a tie.

During this period, Scoot is shooting almost exactly 2 times as many free throws as Simons per minute played. Still not a huge amount, but better than Simons.

And at the end of the game when the team needed a stop, the 21 year old point guard was put into the game instead of Simons.

It sure seems hypocritical to me that Sharpe was moved to the bench because of his defense, meanwhile Simons is one of, if not the, worst defenders in the league. What kind of message is that sending.

Today the Blazers play their final game before the trade deadline. I'm going to wait and see what happens there.

Also when the team has won 8 of 9 games I think we have to keep the same rotation.

If the Blazers either make a trade or stop winning I'd expect more minutes for Scoot/Sharpe.

I’m at a loss what are we doing? Yes the wins feel great, but it’s temporary and at what cost. You are winning but with your two franchise players sitting the bench. Nothing and I mean nothing will destroy a younger players confidence in a franchise quicker then being told your the future as your ass gets splinters and the vet playing in front of you isn’t playing as good as you.

You’re also playing your way out of a high draft pick in one of the best drafts in recent history. This is the type of move that separates teams like us from teams like the Spurs. Understand the assignment, I’m not saying tank but if your going to win at least win with your franchise players getting 30 plus minutes.

the winning streak is an extended sugar rush....tastes great but very little nutritional value; and cavities are forming

last night Simons played as many minutes as Scoot and Sharpe combined. In that game:

    TS%: Scoot .670...Sharpe .666...Simons .366
    net rating: Scoot +15...Sharpe +7...Simons -24.0

as long as Chauncey is coach and Simons is on the team, we'll continue to see this imbalance. Prepare for it to continue next season too. I made a joke about it in the game thread, but in a way, Simons is blocking both Scoot and Sharpe from starting. That, and of course Sharpe's bad defense moved him to the bench while Ant's even worse defense kept him starting

I heard there's some sort of special date on the NBA calendar this week. I wonder if that could have anything to do with it?
