I didn't know it would ever happen. It's a big leap from hoping he'd be middle of the pack scoring/shooting-wise, to leading the team in 3-point % and TS% for a 19-game stretch.

 

Hey man, let's be real. You were in the game threads a lot more earlier in the season when the team and Scoot weren't doing close to as well. It's just strange to me that you were so much more interested in shitting on Scoot than you are in giving him praise now that he's really doing well. Yes, Amen is a special talent but he's not our guy, Scoot is.

Listen bro I’m torn. I don’t want us to win. Its pointless. We need the high end talent that’s in the top 3 this draft has.

This is the classic recipe for being mediocre. You need superstars to win in this league. Cooper Flagg, Ace Bailey, etc might cover that. At the very least we need to put our names in that hat so we can get them.

All this winning doesn’t help towards that whatsover

 

I mean I'd rather this team get a great lottery pick. I'd rather see the vets never even on this years roster so if we won it would've been almost entirely from youth.

But how you or me or anyone posting here feels will have zero impact on any of the moves the Blazers do.

Also at this point it's too late to tank for a top lotto pick, that ship has sailed. The vets were part of this roster and that's all history.

Just enjoy the wins and competitive basketball. We haven't seen any stretch like this in over 4 years.

 

I'm a glass-half-empty kind of guy, but the thought occurred recently that if you added Jokic to this roster it would be a genuine favorite for the title. Now, I know if you add Jokic to a lot of rosters that might be true, but I never would've said it even a month ago. Everybody has suddenly clicked. The team is greater than the sum of its parts.

(Of course, the Tankers are going to say we're going to fuck up adding Cooper Flagg to this roster, but (a) anything can happen, and (b) I picked Jokic for a reason because he has a unique range of talents that literally nobody else on the planet has)

 

Just stupid direction we are going. All for some pointless wins in early February..

 

I imagine you are. It must be tough each day deciding which way to troll. Scoot, when he plays poorly (while the Blazers lose), or the Blazers when Scoot plays well. (and the Blazers win)

 

One more thing about last night's game was watching Scoot and Ant playing together in the 4th. The talk that Scoot defers too much to Ant when they play together looks to be over.
They played very well together. Scoot was running the offense in the 4th at least as much as Simons did. The offense was running smoothly. Very good ball movement.

 

Did you catch what Scoot said at the post game interviw with Brooke?

I actually think the Mavs are going to be tough the rest of the season. Adding AD will REALLY help. Now after next year when he starts to decline, that’s another story

 

I don’t think they are specifically told not to talk about trades, but remember, they would be commenting on coworkers and their bosses. Best to stay away from that if you know what I mean FAMS!
