We already have one on the roster. So the lesson is that if we get Flagg, we need to keep Ayton.

Yep we're too good to tank now. I'm okay with that.

I think everybody is suggesting the players should lose on purpose.

I think you're misunderstanding what is being suggested.

I don't recall a single post saying that.

Players win and lose games. Rooting for losses is rooting for the players to lose games.

It's time to start thinking about getting that big athletic two-way shooting guard to pair with Scoot in the back court.

If it is Shaedon Sharpe, or somebody else.

At this point, depending on who they draft, that very well could be Toumani or Deni.

So you think some fans rooting for losses is the same as players trying to lose on purpose?

Like if I wished for a win super hard we would actually have all the players try harder and win.

Wish I had that sort of power.

I mean we could really use a talent at any position, but we don't have any glaring holes at any position.

    We've had stretches this season where it looks like each one of these is our best future position;
    C (Clingan)
    Guard (Scoot/Sharpe)
    Forward (Deni/Camara)

Rooting to get rid of proven players who are in the way of the young guys (which appears to be what most in this forum are advocating for) isn't rooting for players to lose on purpose.

It is putting them in a situation in which they have opportunity for growth, but which, due to lack of experience, maturity, and respect from the officials will result in many losses regardless of how hard they try to win.

This would have likely resulted in 5 or more high lotto picks, and we'd be in a much better situation, with plenty of talent and young players we could trade for better fits to round out the roster.

Almost every fan in the forum wants to see our young guys play hard and develop... that's rooting for them. The fact that most of us wanted and have kind of abandoned hope of having good draft lotto position has no correlation with if we're rooting for our players or not.

It's oversimplifying what rooting for your team means to say that rooting for them means wanting a win in every game. Some of us value a chance at a championship over a single win in any regular season game.

I was going to "like" this but then I remembered that as we went to overtime versus the suns; I posted "Let's let them win, we already proved we are the better team as long as we don't play Ant and Grant. :o

The "so like..." title of this thread cracks me up. Is Nate (thread starter) a 16 year old girl? "like OMG" :bgrin:

I don’t think 16 year old girls still talk like that. We are old.
