When we won Tuesday and hit 22 wins that's what I assumed. Was kind of shocked of the reports that were likely to flip to tanking.

Could they even this off season, package a player (s) with our pick to move up or trade?

Do we??? I mean I think a rotation of Banton, Rupert, Murray, Walker, Clingan, Reath, Moore, McGowan and Minaya could lose every game we have left on this schedule. Our young guys with the biggest upside have already got a ton of run/reps in this season. We could just call it a season and see how high we can get our lotto chances. I don't think that looks like what management is going to do but... they do a lot of shit that comes out of left field.

Even if we play the entire roster and try our hardest to win, we really might lose these next 4 games before the all star break and then you'd really have to wonder how tempting the tank might be.

Would be toxic to sit all of Scoot Sharpe Camara Deni.

Never heard of team tanking where you sit 3 starter quality guys on rookie contracts. If the Blazers actually do that they should all be fired.

I mean if we are all about a guy that's in the 5-9 range and let's say we end up with the 12th pick then sure we could move up. I don't think we'll be able to move up and get Flagg, Bailey or Harper. Maybe at pick 11 or 12 we end up snagging the steal of the draft. Who knows really?

Theoretically. We're not getting into the top 5 though.

I'm sure we could move up to that 5th pick range. But it likely takes one of Scoot Sharpe Camara Deni. No team is doing it for an Ant/Grant type. Don't think I like that type of gamble.

This is what we get to hope for moving forward...

We should have been shooting for top three every other year. This year top five would have been okay.

If we make the playoffs I believe we're number 14 at best.

I guess we're hoping to stay in the ninth slot.

I think you can probably take the 3% from the 8th and 12 spots and average those out with the 33% of the 9th... There isn't enough data here to be very precise. But you get the idea.

*Edit* 7 thru 15 you'll land an All Star about every 10 attempts.

4 thru 6 you hit about every 3-4 attempts and top 3 you get an all star about every other attempt.

I guess since we can't seem to be smart as a franchise we're going to need to get lucky? Better smart than lucky but better lucky than stuck in purgatory for the next 7 years.

There's actually been a lot of players drafted after the top10 that led the team that drafted them to the title.

Theres no player drafted in the top6 of the draft that has done that for a team own pick since 2003 Wade and 1997 Duncan drafts. Even those two were only brief period tanks.

We're not counting LeBron and if we're not counting LeBron shouldn't we count Kyrie??? I mean LeBron did win one with the team that drafted him and Kyrie was his Robin and one of the leaders.

Ok your right, Kyrie is one. LBJ joined the Cavs as a free agent.

So in the last ~40 years of the draft the only top6 drafted title winners from a teams own pick were Kyrie, Wade, and Duncan.

Not as good an argument for tanking as I expected.
