I disagree that you need to add more to any of those BG's, they are very very busy in my opinion.. I guess use either the V1 or V2 cuz they aren't all that much different and tone the opacity down in the pics in the bg cuz they are too visible, then add text. Maybe you should even find a new main pic cuz it looks weird only to see his face and neck, no shoulders or anything.

Dude that's much better then the original thing you had going on. That pic effect is pretty original its kinda cool, I like what you did here. Not feelen the brushed-over text of V1, but V2/3 both look equally good.
