Step 1. Google your make and model of TV and see if you can put a jump drive into the USB slot and record live TV. My old Samsung could, my new Sony can't.
Heck, it might be BECAUSE you're on the latest version. Maybe Apple is helping them lock it down? I'm not sure though. I don't have much experience with Apple products.
There are scores of folks complaining of this problem going back a couple years. Almost all of them are talking about streaming sites or porn sites not working on an Apple device. Given the time frame of all the complaints and after reading through a couple threads, I'd say this looks like a thing that happens somewhat regularly, albeit not to all users, and often and seems to resolve itself in a matter of time. That is consistent with Apple pushing updates to alter or block certain elements (sketchy video players for example) on their devices in order to cut down on illegal streams (Apple has its own streaming service after all), and then the folks running the sketchy websites need to update their software to get around the new "fix." This same game of whackamole happens with Youtube and uBlockOrigin all the time. Apple is the most walled off operating system there is, and so they have a ton of control over your device. As such, there doesn't seem to be much you can do here outside of jail breaking your iPhone and then knowing how to disable whatever it is they are doing. Your options appear to be: 1. buy league pass, 2. use a non-Apple product, 3. wait and hope it fixes itself, or 4. roll back your OS to a previous version where you didn't have this problem. Personally, I would do 1 while 3 happens and then plan to do 2 before next season.
I have a Tablo, works pretty well it's DVR for antenna and works to watch from any device. Not using at the moment as I prefer YouTubeTV. But if you wanted to save the monthly fee I'd do Tablo.
Yeah this is what I have, it's slick. Id never use an antenna straight to a TV as DVR is a must. It's very simple to setup, just buy the device and download their app it walks you through how to get everything working.
Yeah I got it setup and it recorded what I wanted fine. Once it had trouble switching to a live program and seemed glitchy trying to to get that on but eventually worked. You can setup recurring recordings for events such as all Blazer games. If seemed to work fine eventually but my guess with poor reviews is may not be as polished or reliable as YouTube TV. I was going to stick it in relatives house in Portland to record Blazer games for me since I'm in Texas but instead I just buy league pass on YouTubeTV. There really aren't any other good options I could find for OTA DVR - so if that's something you want to explore I'd give Tablo a shot and see if it works for you.
If I couldn't get a good signal and the other options weren't working for me I would definitely go this route.
