Is this where all the old guys cry about how horrible this is? Instead of just tuning out, they actually watch and take the time to come here and complain? Just want to make sure. I see there have already been two visits.

 

What do you like about the festivities?

 

3pt shootout is probably my favorite of the Saturday events.

I'm interested to see how the new tournament format for the game works. I like the idea that one team is young players who will try, they'll be able to beat the allstars if those stars play like they have the last dozen years with zero effort.

Haven't paid much attention to allstar games in years but open to watch more with the new format.

If the new format doesn't make the game better I'd be in favor of somehow possibly replacing allstar weekend with a second in season tournament. The in season tournament is 10x better than allstar weekend, at least since the 80s-90s. Tournaments should grant something for the playoffs like automatic playin spots.

 

Norman Powell gets invited to the 3pt contest? Makes sense - he's averaging 23.8ppg with 43% 3pt which is actually down from last season.

Crazy that we traded this guy for Erick Bledsoe and Didi who are still on our salary cap today. Bledsoe played 0 minutes for the Blazers and Didi played 122 in 7 games. Both were out of the NBA months after the Blazers acquired them.

 

All star game itself is fun. Just an open gym run with the best of the best. If you realize it’s a glorified scrimmage before you go in, what can you complain about? Dunk contest has sucked since the early 90s, but the 3 point contest is always fun.

 

I dunno, man. I’d be upset if I went to Fogo de Chao and they served me a Big Mac.

 

San Francisco is going to be crazy with All Star game and Chinese New Year parade. Normally I would stay away but have ballet tickets for Saturday.

And to top it all off we just had an earthquake. Only 3.2 but epicenter 2 kilometers from me. Felt like a truck hit my house and scared hell out of Lashanna.

President Musk hasn't yet eliminated US Geological Service.

 

Team Chuck and Team Mitch gonna be hard to deal with.

 

Portland never hosting or scheduled to host an all star game is BS.
Of course Portland in mid feb isn't exactley enticing. Not like Oakland

 

Usually I watch the dunk contest but yes I agree it has not been as good lately. the McClung guy has kind of taken the luster out of it for me.
3 point shoot out has usually been good. I like that they added the lady from the WNBA last year. Forgot her name?
Yes I watch the All Star game and I have usually been rooting for any Blazer but obviously that has just become Dame recently. I like the money for charity incentive. It’s pretty cool.

 

Need about 20 more hotels.

Glad I saw team USA in PDX as a kid because it'll be at least decades until we see something similar again.
