Outside of CBS, none of those channels are any that I would miss.

I had CBS available on YouTubeTV Saturday - so not sure if this got resolved or it's not the main CBS channel.

Glad they finally did that switch - was a black mark on the franchise for the last 20 years since they first created that Comcast Sportsnet NW

Certainly not perfect yet - but I expect there'll be more improvements next few years as well as more streaming options.

Curious WHAT was a black mark, and what do you mean by black mark?

Its funny, when I had Root, and watched every game, and others didnt, I dont recall telling them to 'figure it out' or 'too bad'. It sucked for them. This now sucks for others. But people cant seem to understand that. I am however shocked that the viewership is up 68%. If I was a right wing conspiracy theorist nutjob I would call bullshit.

It's just that far more people have access now than did before. Even though Root was available to a lot of people, it wasn't near as many as can watch now.

There shouldn't be any animosity toward you, IMO. It's just an unfortunate situation you find yourself in.

Even in your situation though, you have options, at a very low price.

Those options were not available to those without root.

This is very clearly a much better deal for the vast majority of fans.

Black mark has a standard definition - try googling it.

Major providers of television to tons of Oregonians had zero options to watch the Blazers since those first day of Comcast Sports Net NW. Even if customers wanted to pay they often had no options. Glad those days are history.

Anybody can buy Blazervision today, unless they are out of market and then they can just buy league pass.

So even the few people that can't get games for free today have other very cheap useful options.

Haven't had that in 20 years.

All-in-all, it's been a huge upgrade in experience for people like me. I snowbird between Oregon and Arizona and use League Pass to watch when I'm in AZ and over the air TV when in PDX. I occasionally have to use the Suns' over-the-air broadcast when the Blazer play Phoenix due to League Pass blackout rules, but that's not a problem. The only games I miss are the cable ones on TNT or ESPN since I'm a cable-cutter. It pisses me off that the league is still letting those sports networks use their broadcasts to try to leverage people into paying for cable. I missed most of All-Star weekend due to their blackout crap. The individual events were available to watch on TNT's Overtime stream, which is just video from a fixed location and no sound. Until they come up with a workaround other than subscribing or piracy, I'll continue to miss those games.

Black mark with WHO though? The people who couldn’t see the games? My family was one of them, but you think there’s a committee out there giving marks? You think anybody in the entire league cares that some can’t watch a game?
Trust me when I tell you they don’t, at all.
You want a black mark, go check out the Nuggets situation. Nobody in Denver has been able to watch them for like 5 or 6 seasons if I’m not mistaken. You think they care? Hell no they don’t. Now that’s a black mark. “Black mark on the organization for 20 years” is a tad bit over dramatic if you ask me. I think the organization will recover.

As I said in my original post, a black mark on the FRANCHISE, which means the Blazers organization. They are the ones that signed the deal to distribute their games exclusively to Comcast Sports NW/ to root/ etc.

I doubt they even made net profit off it in the long run when you weight all the many costs, lower fan interest, lower franchise value, less TV streaming or local broadcast demand this year, etc over the amount of regional TV revenue.

I give them praise for now making better decisions on it. But it was about 20 years of crappy situations they agreed to.

20 years?!? That's a huge exaggeration. 10 years ago a lot of games were on KGW.

When the games transitioned from KGW to Comcast Sportsnet and NBC SportsNW 10 years ago, a lot of fans still had access to those channels and watched the games. The TV ratings prove it.
As streaming services gained popularity, cord cutting become more of the norm, & the move to Root Sports, that's when fan access to Blazer games became an issue.
