<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Q&A with RB MICHAEL BENNETT - 8/3Aug 03, 2006, 2:49:56 PMTRAINING CAMPQ: How does feel to be a member of the Chiefs?BENNETT: ?Wonderful. Ever since they told me the day before yesterday there has been nothing but smiles across my face. It?s nice to be back here in Wisconsin practicing. I?ve got a lot of friends and a lot of family up this way. I?m just happy to be a part of a great organization.?Q: Are you happy because you have a better opportunity in Kansas City?BENNETT: ?There was some opportunity down there in New Orleans, but when you take a guy like Reggie Bush, a guy that can do everything, then the opportunities lessen. I didn?t even know that I was going to end up here in Kansas City. I was hearing a lot about St. Louis and some other places, but when they came in and got me and said I was going to Kansas City I was nothing but smiles.?Q: Are you happy being the backup running back to Larry Johnson?BENNETT: ?My thing is I?m going to come in here and do the best that I can and if that?s going to be my role then I?ll have to take it. I?ve been in this game going on six years and I?ve had a lot of success. So my thing is just to basically come in here and learn the offense. I?ve got to learn a whole new offense, so it?s kind of like being a rookie again. I?ll just put everything together and get out on the field.?Q: Will Friday?s practice with the Vikings be like a homecoming?BENNETT: ?I?ve been getting calls all night from that. It will be good to see the guys again. But, this is a business trip and we can laugh and joke afterwards.?Q: Are you still running under a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash?BENNETT: ?Yes sir, I still run a 4.2, 4.25.?Q: Have the Chiefs told you what they expect out of you?BENNETT: ?Right now I don?t know. My thing is to just come in here and learn the offense. It?s a lot of different terminology that I haven?t heard, so I need to get used to that. I?m just going to come in and give it all I?ve got and wherever they feel I am needed they?ll put me.?Q: How long does it normally take to pick up a new offense like this?BENNETT: ?I don?t know, it normally take three to five days to kind of get the base stuff down. That?s why you have the OTAs and mini-camps, to just prepare you for training camp. Right now it?s the early stages and first day of officially being on the Chiefs and again, I?m just very happy to be here and looking forward to the opportunity.?Q: Do you remember some of the scraps between the Chiefs and Vikings?BENNETT: ?Yeah, I was a part of one of those. I think we?re going to approach this just like a game, but it?s a practice. There?s going to be some intensity out there because you?re not going against your own teammates. I know we used to talk about when we play another team we want to make it hurt. I got a really good feeling from Coach Edwards that he?s going to open up the can and let the beans spill out. Hopefully we can go in and get some work done instead of fighting this time.?Q: Do you like practicing with another team?BENNETT: ?I think it?s good because you work day in and day out with the same guys and you get tired of pushing your own teammates around. It?s good to kind of go out and see where you?re at amongst other teams.?</div>www.kcchiefs.com
He was Tice's guy big time. Expect a guy who can burn the opposition for 80 yards every once a year but nothing else otherwise. I got his jersey back when he was good. I hope he does well with the chiefs. Seemed like a good guy.

He'll have a decent year. I think we are better off with a change of tempo everyonce in awihle. He'll get plenty of time...just like Priest and Larry split time last season.

In the 12 Games Curtis Martin played last year, our backup runningbacks combined for 28 carries. A whopping 2.3 carries per game from our backup Runningbacks. The only backup runningback he ever had that he used was LaMont Jordan and thats because there was so much media pressure on him to do so. Even so though, the most amount of work he was given in one season was 93 carries despite him averaging 5.2 YPC.
