The Mets had David Wright for another full season making 300K before he was Arbitration Eligible but I guess they felt they should reward their home-grown talent now and lock him up Long-Term. Can't say I blame the Mets cause now Worst Case Scenario is that he is in New York until he turns 29. And then Wright going around and donating 1.5 million to the Mets Foundation was a really classy move on his part. Win-Win for both sides. [IMG]

[IMG] Seriously though what the Braves need is to completely revamp their pitching staff, both starters and relievers. They have a good young hitting core but their pitching just stinks, they need to do something they havent done for over a decade now and develop some young pitchers (Who are actually GOOD).Things will be interesting though the next few years as the Mets are only going to get better with Lastings' development and our pitching staff getting younger and maybe even better....but with a young core like the Mets have I see us near the top of the NL east for a very long time....

Wow why did Wright get more years and more money than Reyes? Reyes is as valuable maybe even more than Wright is. It is a good week to be a mets fan too. we signed our future to long term deals and we've been winning games. Omar has done an awesome job with these mets. He's completely turned around this franchise.
