Paul Allen loved to draft undersized defensively challenged pt guards...Joe Cronin loves to draft 6'9 defensive wings.....I think Joe has the better plan moving forward so far.

So was I. Camara is 24 so he's older than either of those players in his second season. By a large margin with Kawhi.

    I don't buy this one.

"Hi, Mr. GM, thanks for inviting me to this interview. At my last job, I did whatever the fuck I wanted and ignored what my GM wanted me to do. So, you should hire me."

Hi Mr. GM, in my last job I got tired of intentionally throwing games and I had some decent players in my stable so I played them in a way that would win games.

Jody should have done an EXTENSIVE job selecting a new GM. But instead, she went cheap, hired an idiot, who proceeds to trade CJ and Nurk while LYING to Dame, overpaying Jerami Grant and getting back quitters with horrible contracts like Deandre Ayton.. We can go down the list of blunders he's made. They have been extensive.

That bish needs to SELL THE TEAM.

Imagine if Phil Knight was the owner...

nonsense...Dame demanded a trade after demanding they sign Grant...Ayton is the best center we've had in a decade. Toumani was a stroke of genius. Deni was a brilliant signing. Olshey couldn't tie Cronin's shoes in my view and Jody has renovated the practice facility, bought a G league team and put a new roof on the Moda as well as upgraded the electronics..you don't have to like her but she's pretty far from cheap and Phil Knight spent millions on Trump's campaign and the GOP party in Oregon last election and is on his last legs.....choices. Good to see you back dviss but we disagree about Jody and what she's done so far. I think she and Joe ripped off the Olshey bandaid and got some defensive minded young building blocks. We'll see if it translates to playoff success but Dame's tenure really didn't get us a chip after a decade. Dame is struggling with a recent championship franchise playing next to an MVP candidate right now. He's also 34 and making so much money that they have no bench...sound familiar? Personally I think Dame fucked this up with his Miami only bullshit demand. Dame has come out in support of Jody...she helped him not only on court but also helped him start his Toyota biz and other projects...I don't get the hate...I think it's misguided. Also since Knight offered her 2 billion for the franchise, it's more than doubled in value. Knight low balled Jody with that offer, the Hornets are worth twice what he offered Jody.

    Wait...trading Nurk was bad?

Even if all they got out of the deal was Toumani, that was a stroke of genius.

I mean ok, sure it was good we got rid of Nurk.

I wonder who it was that handed him that stupid overpaid contract.

That particular overpaid contract might actually have paid off. Phoenix wanted to unload Ayton and needed a center with a bigger contract to help match.
Intentional or not....we are all happy with the inclusion of Camara in the trade.

And this is Camara's contract status.

in the ast 20 years or so, mostly 1st round picks:

    Paul Allen:

    6'9 Travis Outlaw
    6'1 Telfaire
    6'8 Sergei Monia
    6'7 Martell Webster
    6'3 Jarrett Jack
    6'11 LMA
    6'6 Brandon Roy
    6'3 Sergio Rodriguez
    6'11 Joel Freeland
    7'0 Greg Oden
    6'6 Rudy Fernandez
    6'10 Josh McRoberts
    6'3 Jerryd Bayless
    6'8 Nic Batum
    6'9 Victor Claver
    6'8 Dante Cunningham
    6'8 Luke Babbitt
    6'5 Elliot Williams
    6'3 Armon Johnson
    6'2 Nolan Smith

    Olshey Era:

    6'2 Dame
    7'0 Meyers Leonard
    6'6 Will Barton
    6'3 CJ McCollum
    6'6 Allen Crabbe
    6'11 Zach Randolph
    6'9 Caleb Swanigan
    6'3 Anfernee Simons
    6'5 Nassir Little

    Cronin:

    6'5 Sharpe
    6'3 Scoot Henderson
    6'8 Kris Murray
    7'2 Clingan

I don't think there's near enough of a record of Cronin drafts to reach any conclusions. He's traded for some defense and drafted Clingan

PA before Olshey drafted 6 players 6'3 or under but 14 players 6'6 or over. I don't know it that's normal or not; probably is

Olshey drafted some shorter players but more than that he didn't really care about defense

I'd happily trade Nurk for the younger Ayton. The fact that we got Camara as well makes that deal a slam dunk.

But I agree that Phil Knight would be a much better owner.

Dame demanded the trade because this team is being ran into the ground. If you're arguing that she shouldn't sell the team, THAT'S nonsense.

Edit: You create a false equivalence. You act like I like Olshey. NO. But Jody should have gone on an EXPANSIVE search for a GM instead of hiring Cronin who, after lying to us all, I don't give a pass.

I was sad to see Nurk go. I think a lot of fans were. I like Toumani.

I think Dame demanded a trade because he had friends and entourage that wanted him in Miami, more than anything, and, sure, the Heat were in a better place to contend, but I think even to cite that as the whole reason he wanted out is intellectually dishonest.

Nah, its actually a small amount of people that feel that way about all you called out...and they repeat themselves 24/7 so their views are the "loudest"

Some of you guys just can't be pleased at all and think you guys know it all, its hilarious.

Sharpe's play has won us the last two games for example, showing even more signs in his 3rd season his potential- be a cornerstone for us, but all some of you guys on here know how to do is bitch and complain.
