Kennedy downplayed measles outbreak in Texas. He said having measles is actually a good thing because it prevents cancer and heart disease. He naturally provided no evidence. However, the child who just died of measles will never develop cancer or heart disease.

Somebody (Kasparov himself?) has been kind enough to gift this article so anyone can read. I thought it might fit here better than in Ukraine/russia. He starts out talking about russia under Putin in the early days.
"Russian democracy had no institutional memory, no immune system to fight off these attacks. It was like a baby deer hit by a locomotive. The Russian Duma, purged of real opposition, became a Putin cheer squad under the new United Russia party. Judges and the security services fell in line or were removed in purges. Oversight was twisted into enforcement of the presidential will. Economic policy aimed to nationalize expenses and privatize profits, looting the country to line the pockets of a few dozen well-connected oligarchs. Foreign policy also moved out of public view, conducted by billionaires in resorts and on yachts. A flood of Russian money washed over European politicians and institutions. Kremlin troll farms and bots made social media into a national and then global weapon.

If all of this is starting to sound a little familiar, welcome to the Putinization of America, comrade! Trump’s deference to the Russian autocrat has become full-blown imitation. Musk’s promotion of Kremlin-friendly candidates in Germany and Romania and his attacks on Ukraine are bizarre but not random.........
As a 'Reagan Communist' myself back in the U.S.S.R., I sympathize with those who want to shrink and limit government power. But replacing it with a junta of unaccountable elites—the Putin model—is not an improvement."

Totally. I was thinking similar, about time we stopped playing nice guy with these roaches but at the same time I just feel for the guy trying to do his job and having to encounter this brand of insanity that our country is currently mired in, that being insane, unstable, criminals with whatever weapons they choose at their disposal.

Fitzgerald, Georgia is Trump country. The town of about 9,000 is county seat in a county that voted 68% for Trump.

The biggest employer is Mana Nutrition. Mana, using peanut butter as raw ingredient, makes a special high calorie high protein vitamin fortified paste that is shipped to starving children via Agency for International Development. Each package contains a label reading brought to you by American people. They make enough to feed 10 million children worldwide annually.

    Or did.

Since President Musk shut down AID, nothing is being produced. Mana has product they can't sell and purchased raw material they can't use. They expect to close down, firing all 125 employees. The local farmers who grew peanuts with the understanding their product would be purchased now have no buyers. Hungry children, who did not vote for face eating leopard party, will starve.

But hey, a transgender congresswoman can't use women's restroom.

That cop should just be glad he wasn't a Capital cop on 1/26/21. And at least that particular problem is no longer a problem and never will be again. I wish I could send that officer a bottle of his favorite libation to thank him for cleaning up a part of Trump's mess. I doubt that this will be the last "J6 political prisoner" to receive karmic justice.........
