I definitely got the same impression, Zelensky said that Putin had been occupying since 2014 and Vance used it to blow up on him about respects and thank yous even though Vance was completely out of context. It seemed staged that he was going to snap about anything.
Trump and Vance were both trying to act strong and confident. TRump just comes off as a grumpy old fart who thinks just talking louder works, whereas Vance acted like a closeted gay who thinks that's how strong, macho straight men act.
