A friend of mine is an internist and the first thing she said is that she's not a hematologist but that it's less likely to be a chronic issue than if it were in his upper legs or his lungs but she said that it's concerning any time a young person starts having anything like this and it's even more concerning when it's an extremely tall person.
I'm pretty sure a thrombosis can't originate in a lung. That's where a clot from a thrombosis can get lodged causing a pulmonary embolism...which can be fatal as far as Wemby's height: but that he is 7'5 and that he developed DVT around the time he turned 21 are serious concerns as far as the risk of being a chronic condition: so we really don't know much of anything other than generalities. We don't know his family history; the size of the clot; his response to treatment frequent air travel can also pose a risk for people with a prior DVT because of repeated pressure change it sucks he's going thru this and yes, it could it definitely could be life threatening. His BB career becomes a minor consideration compared to that
