Damn if those illustrations were even close to being the final product, it would be amazing for the city.

The issue, as it has for as long as I can remember, is that there is a large portion of the population who do not want it to be a major city. Unfortunately for them
is that when you have 2.5 million in the metro area..... it's too late to keep it from happening.

Is the roof retractable? I feel like that is a must given our climate/rain.

I saw a study once years ago saying how we would have almost the LEAST amount of rain during the course of the MLB season of any of the current cities.

There is a lot of truth to this statement. The idea that Portland *has* to have a retractable roof, is silly and almost like it's a built in excuse for why it can't happen.

Portland gets less rain than Chicago, Miami, New York, Detroit, Seattle, Milwaukee, New York, Boston and I'm sure others.

Yeah, there are issues at the start of the season, but for the bulk of the season it's unnecessary.

But having a retractable roof would be nice. It would make sure there are no rain outs and it would make the stadium more useable during the winter months (concerts etc).

It does look retractable. You can see the roof over the main building as well as the tracks to close it up.

I'm not saying no to it, just that thinking it's mandatory is ignorant

While MLB expansion plans likely won't become definite until those two teams finalize their next homes, two of Portland’s main competitors for expansion have already come to the plate: Nashville and Salt Lake City.

“I'm very competitive. I do not like to lose,” Cheek said. “I haven't lost a whole lot in my time at Nike for 26 years, and I don't plan on losing this to Utah.”

Craig Cheek doesn’t play. This is how Harry Glickman use to think

I would attend games at that stadium and I don't like watching baseball that much.
It would be great for people living near the orange line too.
It's a 15-minute Max ride from the Tacoma Johnson Creek MAX station South Waterfront MAX station.
