Game 1: Vikings vs. Cardinals.Tension was high in Arizona as the Vikings in Cardinals faced off, a test of how good each team really was. The Vikings struggled early in the game on defense but forced a three and out leading to a punt. The very next play, brad Johnson threw an 80 yard bomb to burner Troy Williamson for a touchdown, their first connection of the season, giving the Vikings a 7-0 lead. Matt Leinart, named the starting quarterback the same day, had a hard time adjusting to the change of pace NFL in his first game. Leinart threw 4 interceptions, however his 2 touchdown passes were very impressive. The key moment of the day came with 34 seconds left in the 4th Quarter with the Cardinals on a drive to set up a field goal for a tie. Kevin Williams bull rushed the cardinals offensive line and tallied 4 sacks in a 20 second span, crushing Leinart and the Cardinals hopes of an overtime game.
