Where did I say it was the be all end all of our problems? I wouldn't be talking about evidence when you just assumed Israel supports Bernie because he's Jewish. Totally nonsensical from someone who doesn't know the issue clearly.

 

Mount Spurr in Alaska erupted in the 1980s, burying nearby Anchorage in blanket of ash. It is still active and recently geologists at Alaska Volcano Center recorded increased earthquakes and discharge. They warn Mount Spurr will erupt again in very near future, weeks or months.

President Musk just shut down Alaska Volcano Center. If you don't record an eruption, maybe it doesn't happen.

 

Point is we have much bigger issues than Israel being an asshole. Nobody is going to watch it on CNN. We could apply pressure on that issue if Trump weren't president. Right now, we're just circling our wagons to get by.

 

I didn't think Bernie was unpopular in Israel until Biden was in office. Maybe I'm misremembering...

He was always for a 2 state solution and peace and many (most?) Israelis have historically been for that. He has always been opposed to Bibi, and most of Israel was as well until October 7th, 23.

I was thinking more about Bernie winning in 2016 or 2020. Maybe he was unpopular in Israel at that time. I don't really remember, so maybe it was a bad point.

I was taking the argument being made as an overall Israeli problem, not necessarily just an AIPAC problem.

If it's mostly an AIPAC / billionaire argument then that is just another PAC, and a small part of the larger problem we need to fix. And none of that is going to happen with Trump in office. We stood a much better chance of fixing it without Trump in office.

But my point is that it all starts here. Fixing our policies. There is no other mechanism that I'm aware of.

Compared to tanking the economy, selling out Ukraine and destroying American democracy, performing arts might seem small potatoes. But Kennedy Center for Performing Arts has long been gold standard. When Trump named himself chair and replaced board with right wing activists and Fox commentators, results were predictable. Ticket sales cut in half. Performers cancelled. Donations way down. Members of board traditionally donated their own money to the Center. Catch Laura Ingraham doing that.

No doubt they figured they would get rid of liberals and gays and replace with pro Trump entertainers.
