Once....Alaskan cruise about 40 years ago. I spent 70% of my career flying, so for me, I remember thinking this feels like being in a busy airport especially when flight is delayed.
I could be wrong, since I wasn't cruising when I was 5, but I'm willing to bet that today's ships differ vastly from those in service in the mid-80's. Yes, they are definitely busy, but all-in-all cruises are pretty fantastic (as long as you don't suffer from motion-sickness).
When we go on vacation, we don’t want to see another human if at all possible. My brother sends me pics of him and his family on cruises and all inclusive resorts and that’s just NOT for me. Looks like they are walking thru Disneyland or a mall or something. I’m sure it’s great having all the dining options, but just don’t want to be surrounded. My brother loves it though. To each his own…..we just like getting away.
I didn't see a set up for live music. Like full stage, sound system and dance floor - live music? i mean, technically some streets have live music… buskers…
Shot a video walking the length of the ship on the 8th floor. Floors 6, 7, 8, 16, 17, 18, 19 have common areas and the rest of the floors are only rooms. This is Carnival Jubilee ship which is only a few years old and blew away our expectations.
We certainly do these types of vacations too. We probably end up traveling and vacationing a number of months throughout the year so we do a mix of remote areas, hotels, sightseeing, solo travels, or all 4 of us with kids. A cruise isn't a remote trip. But it's great for an all inclusive type of experience. One of our favorite aspects is no planning nor meals needed. We travel so much we didn't want to have to plan or book anything this trip.
Enjoyed this enough that were going to book some more cruises. I guess I try to book through Carnival or the cruise line directly unless someone has a much better idea.
Okay. But those have been there before the remodel and i believe are open to the public to sit down and play. That is not live music in the common term people use it as… Like full band and dance floor? And you are comparing them as if they are the same??? Thats like saying a child using chalk on a sidewalk to play hopscotch is the same type of vandalism as someone trying to set a police station on fire….
Cruise ended this morning @SlyPokerDog if you prefer to reban that IP. Though doesn't make sense to me why it would be banned. Cruise internet worked for all other sites I needed or use. Maybe I'll turn on home VPN next trip or something.
It was a 7 day cruise. There was a couple dozen people that booked identical cruise back to back and just stayed on the ship. Never would have even considered that or thought it was possible. Perhaps if you had to travel a ways to Galveston or got good deals that could make sense. Also met a lady that was on her 7th cruise and has never had to pay for one - but sounds like she losses a ton of money in their casino which got her the comps.
