Yes. They had begun the process. She has been vetted. They had to a two year relationship before they married. She had originally come on student visa but overstayed due to Covid and restrictions on travel. To Trump just another scary brown person.
I'm going to push back a bit on this. I'm for open borders but if my wife even overstayed her green card let alone visa before she became a citizen, she would've been deported under Obama or any administration as would I if I overstayed my Taiwanese residence card. That's not a product of Trump's racism, although he is a racist. The guy should have legally guaranteed his fiance and got her student visa extended, which is not difficult to do. That's on the couple, not the law. Trump is illegally deporting legal residents in America but this couple is not one of those cases...she didn't renew her visa. I've seen plenty of white people kicked out of countries for the same thing. They can both go to Peru and get married and apply for her green card at the embassy there...no ICE agents are going to bother her in her homeland. Nobody is going to be safe here with expired papers anymore with the GOP police state being heavily funded.
Don't know if couple dropped the ball. Possibly. But this man voted for Trump because he wanted deportation. Of other people's families.
Trump insisting in court he has absolute right to deport anyone without any due process to extrajudicial dark sites in foreign countries. He does not need to provide any evidence against the people deported or even release names. Not only no evidence of crime, they could be US citizens. DOJ told judge they need not comply with judicial orders. Trump calling for impeachment of judge, appointed by Obama, now saying Obama wasn't actually president because he didn't win! Also any judge who rules against him should be impeached. Republicans in Senate began articles of impeachment against judge. King George III made no such claims. John Roberts issued a rebuke. But he already ruled Trump has absolute immunity. So why should Trump listen to him?
Roberts trying to save his own ass. He knows if Trump is allowed to take judges power away eventually his power could be taken. He realizes if other judges can be impeached, so can he.
ICE confirmed "most" of the people deported without due process to indefinite detention in brutal Central American prison have never been charged with, let alone convicted of, any crime.
Social Security will now require new and existing recipients to provide identity checks. Those unable to do so on line, and most Social Security recipients are elderly and/or disabled, must go in person to office. Staffing is currently at 50 year low and President Musk plans to lay off thousands of social security workers and close dozens of centers. Some recipients, elderly and disabled, will have to travel 300 miles to get to an office. And currently there is a month waiting period for an appointment. To directly cut Social Security benefits or throw people off is too politically toxic even for President Musk and co President. So they do so indirectly. An audit last year showed fraud virtually nonexistent. More than 99% of Social Security payments are legitimate. This enforcement will cost millions of dollars. And after Social Security is wrecked, they will say it's terrible and needs to be privatized. Which was the plan all along.
Anybody who thought Trump was going to (in any way) increase peace or cooperation was absolutely joking themselves. It's going to be a real fucking mess over there and a lot of people are going to suffer and die. They're going to make Gaza a parking lot. And then they're going to build it into exactly what Trump wants. There's literally nothing the left can do right now to help Gaza. Anybody who wanted to help Gaza should have voted against Trump. Even if that meant pinching their nose and voting for a candidate they didn't necessarily like. Any non-MAGA candidate was absolutely 100% better than Trump (since Trump is the real threat to start WW3).
Pentagon restored page on Jackie Robinson. Sort of. Deleted large sections of his biography and added race had nothing to do with his accomplishments. He was court martailed for refusing to sit in back of bus and called n word repeatedly during hearing. And what exactly did he do that made him nationally famous? Nothing to do with race?
I don't blame them for trying because under Biden, the same shit was happening if not worse. They took their shot hoping for something different and while they've gotten a ceasefire, it was all for show. The left could have helped Gaza and won the election but their Zionist donors didn't want that and they obeyed. There was plenty the left could have done to help Gaza. lol
There was plenty the left could have done. Unfortunately we didn't vote a left president into office. We voted Biden in instead. But even Biden was doing far more than the right (and especially Trump) will do to help Gaza. Trump will actively help step on Gaza. As everyone who knows anything about American politics was saying since long before the election. Allowing Trump to win was dooming Gaza to this fate. Anybody who didn't do everything possible to prevent Trump from winning was specifically asking for this exact scenario and worse. And make no mistake, it will get worse.
Biden did more to kill Palestinians, yes. Kamala had every opportunity to communicate how she would be different and didn't and lost because of it. It's pretty evil to see Democratic voters who didn't care about the genocide say Kamala could win without doing a single thing different and then bring it up now in glee because they hate Trump. A genocide of an entire population will always be more important than who gets to be the sitting puppet for the oligarchs for 4 years.
The people who took that stance and refused to vote for the person who had the best chance of keeping Trump out of office encouraged what we're seeing now. This is literally what they asked for. They are on record as voting for this. Or they are on record as refusing to vote. I understand being principled. But this was beyond principle. I'm devastated by what I'm seeing in Gaza and Ukraine. But there is literally nothing I can do about it right now. We had a chance to do something about it in November and a lot of people refused.
Acting like you care now because Trump took power when you made all the excuses in the world as to why Biden had to do it shows your true colors. People who made excuses for Biden and Kamala enabling a genocide is why you have Trump now. Maybe next time you'll get on the right side of history.
Whatever helps you square with your decisions. I voted against authoritarian genocide. Never once did Biden say he was going to turn Gaza into a US-owned resort. Neither did Kamala.
