That doesn't change the fact that in reality he was probably the Worst Offensive Lineman in the NFL.</div>Ok ok let me add on.Ahmed Plummer was 87+ for the past few years and he's retired now cuz he sucks and nobody wants him </div>Madden's producers are a bit slow in recognizing trends sometimes. Kearse hasn't gotten over 10 sacks since 01' and he's 93.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (AdropOFvenom @ Aug 18 2006, 10:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>10.9 yards a clip is a poor number compared to that of the other Elite Tight Ends in the league. It is at least a half a yard per reception behind most Elite Tight Ends and almost 3 yards per reception behind that of Jeremy Shockey. He may get the ball alot, but he hasnt broken many long receptions when he does get it. In 71 receptions, he only has 6 Over 20 Yards. In comparision Jeremy Shockey has 12, Antonio Gates has 16, and Tony Gonzalez has 9. The fact that Gonzalez is a 97 and only has 2 1000 yard seasons just helps prove my point that somebody who had 750 yards does not deserve a 98. I would have no complaints if he was a 92-93 type rating as a Tight End but to be listed as one of the best players in the game, you need to prove yourself as one of the best players in the game instead of being barely on the grasp of Elite as Cooley currently is.</div>Really?Shockey - 65 catches, 13.7 avg.Gonzo - 78 catches, 11.6 avg.Gates - 89 catches, 12.4 avg.So explain to me what more you want from him? He isn't a speedy type of guy like Shockey, Gates, or Gonzo. He puts up good numbers despite his speed and lack of experience in the NFL thus far. All these other guys have been in the NFL at least 3 years , where he's been in only 2. So, Gonzo deserves to be a 97 overall? He has 7 more catches and .7 ypc more than Cooley. So where does that leave Cooley when you make him a TE? Exactly around what Punisher said, a 94. Case closed, you can't argue with stats that you even said were deserving of a 97 with Gonzo.
Cooley will be the best TE (at least in the NFC, thats for sure). he might not get as many catches this year cuz of all the weapons the skins got, but he is still amazing... and he doesnt drop passes like gates.

And Gonzalez has put up numbers for almost a decade now....whereas Cooley has done it for one season. All I am saying is that a 98 is a little bit rediculous for someone who has had one good season, but still performed a little bit below the level that elite Tight Ends in this league normally do. Chris Cooley is a good player but you got to prove yourself as one of the best 2 players at your position to be worthy of a 98 IMO and even you guys have to admit that he is currently not that. If in the Game when you move him to a Tight End and he is a 93-94 type player, then I would have no compliants with that, but what reason do we have to believe that to be true? I havent seen any statement from Madden saying that and all we're going on on that is Punisher's word. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Cooley will be the best TE (at least in the NFC, thats for sure). he might not get as many catches this year cuz of all the weapons the skins got, but he is still amazing... and he doesnt drop passes like gates.</div>Chris Cooley - 71 receptions/5 DropsAntonio Gates - 89 receptions/9 DropsMaybe he does drop less balls, but Cooley isnt exactly Mr. Automatic with the hands himself.
