The funny thing is, after the game tonight the Rangers will sit in playoff position. It is misleading because while they'll be 2 points ahead of Montreal and CBJ, both of those teams will have two games in hand on the Rangers, so they could move 2 points ahead of the Rangers if they will their games in hand (the Isles will be 3 behind the Rangers also with two games in hand - so they could go 1 ahead of the Rangers). But as of tonight, for the moment the Rangers will be in 8th (the Rangers have already pretty much locked up the tiebreaker against all those team - they will have 32 RW's which is the top tiebreaker).
That's because our dumbass coach put a scoring prospect on a better line and gave him real ice time. These morons along with the incompetent rest of the East are stringing us along just enough to give us hope. I don't care what the Craps and their fans say. They want nothing to do with the Rangers in the first round. Wilson will lose it just like always.
Finally a dominant game against a shitty team except on the PP of course. I agree about Trocheck, he gets over 21 minutes per game which is consistent from last year but his scoring is way down - too many swings and misses on scoring attempts. Sucks being in a position that the Rangers need to count on other teams to choke to squeak into the last WC spot.
If you want the Rangers to have a legit shot at the 8th spot, root hard for Montreal to lose at home to Florida tomorrow night. If Montreal wins, they'll move two points ahead of the Rangers, and the Rangers have a really tough finish to the season. Another Montreal win over Florida would be a really tough blow to the Rangers playoff chances (the point they choked away against the Ducks could become a huge lost point).
