I guess that I will be at Perreault's first game. I will give my expert analysis on his play as I am booing the worthless, lazy, dog shit vets during the game.

I’ll probably say, hey I was at Gabe Perreault’s first game as a Ranger. then they fucked him up, traded him and he became a 100 point scorer and won multiple Stanley cups.

I'll say this, we all love to knock the Rangers for never giving the kids a shot, and rightfully so, but if Othmann and Perreault are both in the top 6, that's good to see.

I can envision adding a very good wing and see this as the top 9 next season (create the lines as you see fit):

    Lafreniere/Miller/Perreault/Panarin/Trocheck/Othmann/Cuylle/Zibanejad/very good wing added

Add in a solid 4th line mix of Rempe/Carrick/Edstrom/Berard/Brod and you are looking at a deep team upfront.

Then you need to add a legit 1st pair LD to play with Fox. Pair Schneider or K. Miller with Borgen on the 2nd pair. Trade Schneider or K. Miller to add the very good wing or the legit top pair LD, and/or to free up some cap space. Soucy and Vaak can be the 3rd pair. Solid D IMO.

All of that can be accomplished this summer. Need to trade Kreider and K. Miller (I would deal him over Schneider), and the Rangers can be back near the top again next season.

As a side note on K. Miller, you are at a decision point with him. He's an RFA with arbitration rights, only two more seasons until he's a UFA, coming off a nearly $3.9M AAV, with over a $4.6M base this season. You need to sign him longer term this summer for at least $5.5M per + or trade him. At this point I say trade him and move Schneider up into the top 4.

I would've said Chychrun but he's now a Cap for a long time. As far as the W I'm thinking Ehlers would be a nice fit. I'd agree Miller should definitely be gone, they just can't have his costly errors bringing the team down.

I wonder how many spoiled brat Rangers fans will already be wearing a Perreault jersey.

That's too bad a scrub like Kaliyev has his #34 but he will probably get it within the next year.
