A bowl of steam is worth way more than Grant, Ayton, Thybulle. Sure wish we could've kept Nance over those wastes of space.

Yeah it is crazy if you step back to think were still over 3 years away from potentially paying the cost of acquiring Nance - who has since spent seasons in New Orleans and this entire season in Atlanta.

That's not why he's valuable and you know it. He's a glue guy that would instantly be our 1st or 2nd best defending big. Great passer. Can hit a wide open 3. Can play backup C. Athletic AF.

And again, we just gave him away. You can't make that a good Cronin move no matter how hard you try.

Sometimes it's like fans don't actually watch games or look at stats.

There's a reason why Nance is in his 5th team.

Nance was a throw in. He didn't even need to be included in the deal. Total Cronin brain fart.

There are many ways to affect the game besides scoring right? And you're completely missing the point. Cronin gave him away when he didn't need to be included in the deal.
He could still be on the team WITH the players we traded him for. And you know full well that deal for CJ was a CRAP deal. We missed out on a draft pick and gave a player away because of that.

That's where you're off. Nance had to be included to make the incoming-outgoing differential large enough to create a Jerami-Grant-sized trade exception. Now, if you want to complain about the fact that Cronin pursued and acquired Grant in the first place, that's fine, but it's wholly inaccurate to claim that Nance was an unnecessary throw-in. He was included in that deal for a very specific reason.

Yup - that is my gripe. Each error was somehow worse that the prior one

    1. Stupid to dump Nance/CJ just to create a Grant trade exception - along with the horrific Clippers trade. Eventually the only semi useful asset we got in the deal in Hart was dumped for the horrific 27 year old rookie Murray pick.
    2. Even more stupid to trade for Grant a few months later - I'd have much rather had Jalen Duren or just kept the pick
    3. Even even more stupid to give Grant that dumb contract
    4. Even even even more stupid not to trade Grant last summer when we somehow lucked out that he had a career year and had legit value - at the least of a player on a much shorter contract

    5. I'm scared to think what will be next - maybe Grant is still starting in front of Deni/Camara in October.
    6 Then in 2026?
    7 Then in 2027?
    8 Finally in 2028?

Kind of amazing that the Grant dumb decisions will continue to haunt us potentially just as long as the stupid debt we have to acquire Nance.

Deni just dropped a 30 piece triple double. Can we finally send this thread to the garbage can where nance jrs career story will end up?

He won't last much longer on the team.

Cronin got us Deni. End of story. Him and Tuomani are our cornerstones. We have a bright future and I am here for it. Happy to say I’m a 15 year season ticket holder and ready for the fun ride ahead.

This is my thinking. He’s out of the league after next year unless something changes and he can start hitting a shot.
