The United States has one of the most open economies in the world, and the lowest average tariff rates in the world. While trade accounts for 67% of Canada's GDP, 73% of Mexico's GDP, and 37% of China's GDP, it accounts for only 24% of U.S. GDP. I don't know if it's a good idea or a bad idea, but I see what he's ostensibly trying to do. It certainly won't curb inflation though.
The incorrect assumption is that Trump has a plan. He does whatever pops into his head and no matter how many people tell him he has facts wrong he insists he is always right. He is influenced by whatever he hears on Fox and whoever flatters him. Even his sycophants don't try to find reason, they just say trust Trump.
It's just like the reboot of Battlestar Galactica. Every episode it started off with... AND THE SERIES ENDED AND WE NEVER KNEW WHAT THE PLAN WAS.
Apparently, he wants that and doesn't care. As long as he can run, he doesn't care who runs against him. Didn't he say he wanted to run again and against Obama? I think he feels like if Obama will be allowed to run again that the Dems will be more likely to vote to change presidential term limits in the constitution. Dems need to say fuck that. And, I think they will. They will be happy to not have him running and run someone else over getting to run Obama
The idiot will force Taiwan to take it's world class chip tech to another country after we had just agreed to cooperate...they won't like this at all. How dumb can this administration be? All for the sake of insecure posturing and a feeble attempt at bullying people for no reason other than to show he can.
A flat $32 isn't that bad... Seriously though. There is a reason for all of this. It makes the US look bad and strengthens Russia. It strengthens all authoritarians, really. There will probably be another eight countries with nukes within the next year or two...
