Only 3 more games to suffer with this pile of shit team. Thank God. I'll miss Sam a lot but not this group of dipshits.
"Enjoy" these last 3 games, because I have a feeling, we are going to see big changes and a core breakup this summer, and many current Rangers will not be on the team next season. For starters, after a 13-year run, say your last goodbyes to Chris Kreider in a Rangers sweater, I think that's for sure.
Hopefully they continue to get embarrassed for the remaining two games as well. Maybe that will ensure everyone is fired, and at the very least it should ensure MAJOR core changing moves no matter who the GM is. BTW - Zibanejad is a -25. I know +/- is not the end all be all stat, but -25 on a team that is only -5 overall in goal differential is horrible. The next worst on the team is Lafreniere at -14. It shows you just how terrible and embarrassing Zibanejad has been this season, to me he has been by far the worst player on the team. Since he is virtually untradable with his contract, I am truly hoping this embarrassing season gets him to refocus, rededicate, and recommit this summer, if he has any pride, it will. And hopefully whomever the new coach is (and maybe new GM) holds him accountable as well. That is a must. Right now, the Rangers sit with the 11th pick. Realistically, they'll pick in the 10-12 range. At Florida and home against TB should be two L's, but TB may not need the last game, so who knows. As much as I knew the Rangers would not be good this season after the waste of a summer they had, even I never thought they would be this bad. I was thinking battle for 3rd in the Met or a WC. For this team to outright miss the playoffs is truly a disgrace (it is not easy to miss the playoffs when half the league gets in). Every single person in, or connected to, the organization should be embarrassed by the pathetic effort all season long. It started with a joke of a wasted summer, right through the Trouba debacle, and continued from there. Utter embarrassment. The only positive I see is there has to be major changes made this summer after this mess of a season.
The Blackhawks suck yet they’re crowd is absolutely loud as hell and the stadium is packed against the Jets.
Hockey is a sport where teams can go from the top one season, to missing the playoffs the next season, back to the top the following season. I think the Rangers can do it next season, if they make the right bold and aggressive moves this summer. Keep up the faith Rangers fans, I believe this disaster will push the Rangers to do some great core changing things this summer. This season will be the kick in the butt leadership needed to stop being afraid and make the big changes that have been necessary for a long while. One step back for two or three steps forward.
Yes, things can change quickly in sports. The Caps shot all the way up this season and a long with the Rangers a 109 point Bruins team shot all the way down. There’s talent here that can come back strong next season if they make the right moves.
I agree 100%. I really think it comes down to one big thing, a clear acknowledgment by leadership that major core changing moves are needed. If they understand that, I think the Rangers can be back at the top competing for a Cup next season. If they half-a** it and pretend fringe moves are all that are needed, next season will be another disaster. Boldness and aggressiveness need to the mindset going into the summer.
This article is very interesting. Take it all with a HUGE grain of salt, when you are losing these types of things become predictable to some extent. Still, I cannot help but feel the Rangers have been poorly led the past few years. When 2 of 3 seasons end in embarrassing fashion, it's difficult to ignore. It's a big reason why I feel everyone should be fired and start with a clean slate before the draft. Drury, Lav, all the assistant coaches (minus Allaire in his role), fire them all and start fresh. A real owner would d0 just that, but unfortunately, I fully expect Drury to be back, and the coaches to be fired. Calvin de Haan says 'it's f--ked' the way he's been treated by Rangers
