Shawn Springs, Taylor Jacobs (he left though), Ben Emanuel, Clinton Portis, Ataveus Cash, Chris Clemons, Kerry Carter, Ladell Betts, Jesse Lumsden, Nic ClemonsNot good...Springs could miss 3-6 weeks... he might not play Week 1. This part of the season is always sad for me, watching some players get waived. Sucks that Chris Clemons got hurt and we had to cut him, he was good in Gregg Williams's blitz schemes. GOOD NEWS:WE SIGNED JEFF POSEY!
Out of those guys you listed they are just some minor bumps and bruises and all should be good to go by the time the season starts, which is fine. The Springs one concerns me though.. I mean who do we really have at corner?

All I'm going to say is that the Redskins are in trouble if any of those 3 you listed are starting. Rumph already proved he couldnt handle a starting job in San Francisco. I wasnt impressed by Ade Jimoh last year, especially in the playoffs when just about every other CB was injured and Kenny Wright is mediocre at best.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Punisher @ Aug 18 2006, 01:13 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>^ How??</div>Punisher...come on man. You're smarter than this. Like I said before, I had the Redskins winning the division. But after the injuries, I don't see it at all. Your guys have injuries that when they do come back, they will nagging them the rest of the year. Portis, had problems last year with the same shoulder. Once you dislocate a shoulder it will happen again. And there's going to be a time when he has to lower his shoulders to hit the holes. And he knows this. In fact, he reference that teams are going to take shots at his shoulder. So that's going to be all season long. And it only takes on shot and he's out for the game or even the season.Shawn Springs - He was a big reason why you guys could blitz so much. Without him, I don't see it as much. His injury is to an area of muscle where DB's heavy rely on. And you can say what you want, but when you tear muscle it takes a long time for it to heal. When he gets back that will be a nagging injury. Just imagine if he has to strength for an interception. His muscles may rip again in that area.Phillip Daniels - The guy has back problems...You guys have no depth at any position except receiver. And the people you are bring in are not even 2nd team material.
Dude, are you drunk? With Saunders, even Betts can rush for 1,300 yards while Cartwright gets about 700. If the season started right now, CP's status would day to day, not Out For 3 Weeks.Springs is the reason we could blitz so much? Hmm... He's the one we use to blitz. Rogers is our #1 CB, Wright and Rumph will battle for #3 or #2. Springs will keep blitzing. And the reason we could blitz was because of Marshall's cover skills and Taylor's abilty to shut down any player in the league.QB: Brunell, Campbell, Collins (understands the offense)RB: Portis, Betts and Cartwright (best backup duo in the league, you know that too)WR: ...TE: Cooley and Fauria... not bad, not badFB: Mr 8 TD SellersOline: no depth, trueEvans and Wynn are backups (combined 5 sacks) - no depth, eh?Carter (when playing DE) got 13 or 14 sacks and Daniels got 8.5 or somethingGriffin we all know is beast, and Salave'a is a nice run stufferJeff Posey (started for Bills) and Warrick Holdman (started for Browns)- no depth, eh?Wright (started for Jax), Rumph (started for Niners) - no depth, eh?Prioleau (started for Bills), Edwards (started some for Falx) - no depth, eh?

That is complicated. But we'll see the next preseason game if they have. What I was saying about Springs was the he was a good blitzer. But I don't see that you have someone like that anymore. As for Carlos Rodgers, he's ok but he's not a number one corner right now. The rest of the corners are very suspect! And Carter had 13 sacks 3 or 4 years ago. You're always talking about what's in the past stay in the past. Carter hadn't proved anything after that. Are we talking about Demetric Evans? The same guy that was with the Cowboys? You can't sell me on that one because I've seen first hand how he plays...Renaldo Wynn only had .5 sacks last year. Don't see that one either.Jeff Posey...well I will just say this, you don't cut LBs in preseason if they are good or have some value. But I will say that he's probably now you best defensive back up.Wright and Rumph...I know you don't buy that. And I understand this is your team but get real. Rumph, only played, get this, in only 5 games in the last 2 years. Kenny Wright at best is maybe an OK nickel back. And I'm not going to comment on Prioleau because you've seen enough of how he played last year to know he's probably a special teams player at best...and Edwards...played in 4 games and he didn't start all of those. But I will say that Gregg Williams will do something with them. But to say they'll be the team last year...I don't know.I'll give you depth at TE...I forgot about them. But that's about it. I do disagree with you on Betts and Cartwright being the best backup duo. And there is no way that Betts even gets 1000 yards, if he was to be the start for the whole year. I can't see that at all..

The success of your runningback will be directly proportional to how well your offensive line plays, and no matter how good you think your offensive line is, it isn't close to what Kansas City has had the past 5 years. 2) All of those are about the equivilant of saying that the Jets are fine at QB depth because we have Brooks Bollinger who started for us last year. Just because someone got the opportunity to start DOES NOT make him a good player. Each and every person you listed lost their starting job for a reason, they weren't good enough to make it as a starter, or in the case of Mike Rumph it was because he wasnt good enough AND he thought it was acceptable to play in 15.6 Percent of Games that San Francisco played the past 2 years. Maybe they will be fine as backups in certain packages to get their playing time in, but once the injuries start hitting and we're talking about having somebody like Mike Rumph in the starting lineup for the Redskins, that will be when you guys are in a ton of trouble defensively (Just like what happened Last Season)

Gregg Williams KNOWS where to put people in every situation.

i thought Rumph was a FS... but yea, we might ge the injury bug this year. we could still win a lot of games, cuz we have the best depth in the league, except for offensive line.portis is a tough guy. he'll play week 1

He was then moved back to CB and injured himself in practice the same week and was out for the season.
