He'll get traded before that happens. I think he'll be a Laker in the end...

    3yrs - $100M left on his contract....
I'd say there is NO chance of a buyout.

If you plan on contending for a playoff spot, guys like Thybulle are gold. Unless he wants out, we need to keep him

I'd be fully on board with him winning a championship as a Blazer regardless of whether he was a starter or on IR, that doesn't really have much to do with him though...

I can assure you that Matisse is a special kinda dude you want on your roster. Great guy and he looked fantastic since he returned.

scoot going into extra detail about what he'll work on was awesome to hear.

and the stuff he talked about is exactly what i thought he needed to do.

Oof Grant was rough. Think it's obvious he's gone. But doubt there is any market for his contract. I just hope we don't attach assets to move him.

He put down an entire instruction manual on what he needed to do this summer. Great to hear. He's a workhorse who is only going to get better.

He has a body of work. I think he'll be rather easy to move without attaching assets.

Pretty sure the Hart and Thybulle trades were separate transactions, but the point stands since Thybulle came in a trade.

    Simultaneous trade(s)

    upload_2025-4-16_9-26-50.png

it was a Hart for Thybulle swap with some filler added to Thybulle. Blazers got a late 1st, but they gave up two future 2nd's. This appears more of a 'at-least-get-something-before-he-walks' trade. Blazers gave up the best player, but his was an expiring contract and Portland knew their chances of re-signing Hart were remote, at best

I also don't think having him come off the bench would be a terrible thing either, if he bought in.

Watched on YouTube. They did not show English subtitles. Anyone have translation of Hebrew conversation?

Buying in IS the big issue.

I'm 80% sure that is why we never saw Grant the last 17 games of the season. I think Billups was going to bring him off the bench & Grant decided to milk his injury.

That would not be my guess, but it is possible. My guess is it was a mutual decision.

IIRC they were two separately negotiated trades that they ended up wrapping into one for salary cap purposes, but whatever, the semantics don't change the point.

Blazers traded 2nds for Thybulle. Traded Hart for a 1st and Reddish.
