Actually, it's not that bad of an idea.....and that is coming from someone that likes Simons and doesn't like Randle. However, if I read it correctly, you are essentially trading Ant for a 1st and a 2nd and an ending contract? I think Randle will opt out of his contract this summer and become a free agent. I would hold out for another trade though.
* everything about Grant was predictable, from the trade for him to the new contract. The rumors of Portland's interest were legion * maybe it's hindsight but trading Hart was pretty predictable with his contract situation and after his comments about how his wife felt about Portland vs the east coast. IIRC we had weeks of proposed Hart trades here because of all that * there was a poster on Blazer RealGM who said, at least a couple of months before the trade, that Cronin and Schmitz were working hard to try and trade for Avdija. Kind of a 'stay tuned to this channel' post. Now, that was the only rumor about Avdija-->Portland I read * and of course that Dame would be traded was just about guaranteed. Where he was traded was the only surprise I'd say the only major surprises with Cronin's trades, other than the Dame destination, was during his first trade deadline. Dumping Powell & RoCo to the Clippers, and moving CJ and Nance to the Pels (for a TPE sufficient to take back Grant) now, this off-season I'm expecting a complete reboot for next season: Cronin back; Chauncey back; the roster rotation back; and no significant trade. So any substantial moves will come as a surprise to me. Have to see the actual move(s) to determine pleasant or unpleasant
Throwing this out there. I would also include this year's pick, but we have to make the pick first as part of the condition for the Chicago pick and the Stepien Rule:
Id rather keep Simons over getting CJ back. Remove both Simons & CJ, and it looks good to me (doubt PELS) would agree
Ehh…CJ only has 1 more year left on his contract. It’s not so bad. Especially if they threw in a pick.
I’ve heard talks about how MIL should move on from Giannis if they are out to the pacers. But idk why they would do that, and if they did then I’m sure the whole league would be interested in him. But I would love to see Giannis here, and then some how bring our guy back… Maybe that’s just an irrational dream.
It might not be the blockbuster trade that we all hoped for but Julius Randle isn’t that bad. I don’t know why people would have such a problem with him.
Yep, anyone would love to add Giannis. But if they lose to Indiana, that will be three straight first-round exits. He needs to be a 3rd option on offense so he can concentrate on everything else he does so well. His 3 pt shooting and FT shooting still sucks though.
Saw Spurs might be interested in Sabonis and suggested trade was 3- 4 1st rounders and pick swaps damn that’s awfully expensive not sure I would do that deal unless he was last piece to make us a contender. Think you have to continue with the process and hope a couple of your picks/players hit big
I fail to see why the Spurs would do that. They spent the first 20 games of Wemby's rookie season experimenting with Wemby at PF. and Zach Collins at C. After they abandoned the experiment and made Wemby the starting C, he really ignited as a generational unicorn. Zach is a lot more mobile than Sabonis...at least he used to be having two C's who both want and need the ball in post positions wouldn't make sense. And, the Spurs have done well managing their cap. Adding the 46M/year salary of Sabonis is a big step in the opposite direction.
way too much for Brown https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba...ers-3-player-package/331e24a1f1f0029c61d2d043 I could get behind this https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba...art-jonathan-kuminga/d88907c3965ed06c8a44a36f
Why is that too much for Brown? He’s a 4 time all star and a finals MVP. You just don’t want to trade Camara.
We will have Camara in the cheap for awhile, so no I don’t want to get rid of him. Not really excited to get rid of the other 2 either. Not worried about the pick but would rather package that with Ant or Grant to move those guys. And then there’s Browns massive contract.
Do not give up draft picks to move off of any vets unless we're getting back a legit championship caliber starter.
Neither one of those are 'real' rumors. They make it look like a legitimate report, but it's not. Im not sure if its AI generated rubbish or what...
Biggest swing that I could come up with: C Antetokounmpo PF Camara SF Avdija SG. Sharpe PG. Lillard bench: Clingan / Reath / Williams III / Murray / Walker / Banton / Cissoko / Thybulle / Rupert / and find a promising PG and a PF in the draft 2025/26 This could be a great team for 3-5 years. Better roster than the current Bucks and while not a youthful team, with good chemistry, we could see a championship in Portland
speaking of big swings, but shifting gears a bit: it's being discussed on RealGM that Camara can be signed to an extension this summer. The estimate of the extension amount is ranging between 84-89M over 4 years. So, 21-22M year. And because the Blazers have a club option for Camara's current deal for the 2026-27 season, that 4th year might be able to be cancelled and the extension started in July 2026 obviously, with the escalating salary caps seemingly in store for the next few years, getting Camara locked in a 21-22M season would be a good deal for the Blazers. Would Camara accept?
