He walked off the field but was examined by trainers while sitting on the cart. He then was taken to the locker room.Stevens was expected to have an MRI on Thursday afternoon."It was the same knee he had surgery on, so we're a little apprehensive," Holmgren said after practice.Stevens had surgery April 25 on the left knee.Stevens emerged last season as a favorite target of quarterback Matt Hasselbeck on third downs and near the goal line. He had career highs of 45 receptions and five touchdowns. But most remember him for his verbal sparring with Pittsburgh linebacker Joey Porter the week of the Super Bowl. He then struggled against the Steelers, dropping three passes during the Seahawks' 21-10 loss.Stevens was Seattle's first-round draft choice in 2002.Copyright 2006 by The Associated Press</div>http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2552813

(Aug. 18, 2006) -- Seattle tight end Jerramy Stevens was expected to miss the next six weeks after injuring his surgically repaired left knee during practice. An MRI exam showed that Stevens had torn the meniscus in the same knee that was fixed April 25. He was scheduled to have surgery in Seattle. The Seahawks open the season Sept. 10 at Detroit. Six weeks would be the end of September, and the Seahawks could give Stevens more time to recover with their bye coming on Oct. 8.Stevens was hurt while trying to catch a pass from Matt Hasselbeck. The pass was broken up and Stevens fell to the ground, landing heavily on his knees. He was taken to the locker room on a cart."It looked like he got tripped up a little bit ... and he just kind of came down on his knee. That's what it looked like to me," coach Mike Holmgren said. "We'll see it on film, but he just came down on it and the knee bore the weight of his body."Stevens emerged last season as a favorite target of Hasselbeck on third downs and near the goal line. Injury hurts the Hawks offense obviously, but I dont really feel horrible about having to start Itula Mili either... Obviously Mili isnt the athlete that Stevens is, but Mili is a solid TE.
