My friends dad was a big wig with Pepsi and would take clients to games a couple rows back. We were little league teammates and he knew I was a diehard Blazer fan. We had a game and he just casually asks if I want to go to the Blazers game tonight.

    Fuck yeah!

It was game 6 vs the Lakers of the 2000 Western Conference playoffs. We beat them handily. Everyone was pumped. We make it to the finals and we’re beating the Pacers. Then game 7 happens.

I was a recluse for several days afterward.

We haven’t came close ever since.

Hard to choose between watching Dame make that “Bad Shot, man…”
    Or
    The wave

Witnessed them both. I think the wave. But really hard to choose.

Im just sayin, I cant decide which I like better. I’m waving bye, bye and stoic mug shot face, or PG’s post game press conference. Both were epic.
“That’s just a bad shot man. I dont care what anyone says.”
    Rofl!!!

Edit: okay. I suppose I wasn't present for the press conference. But, ill never forget PG’s face and statements. :biglaugh:

ChatGPT knows what’s true in the NBA:

Trail Blazers fans are built different. Through highs and lows, Rip City shows up with unmatched loyalty and heart. While Lakers fans often hop on and off the bandwagon depending on the team’s success, Blazers fans stay true no matter what. It’s easy to cheer when you’re spoiled with championships — it takes real passion to stand tall through every season. In Portland, it’s not just about winning — it’s about pride, resilience, and love for the game. That’s what makes Blazers fans the best in the league

Especially Blazers fans who live elsewhere and don't even have a local community.
