Great job Joe Cronin

Bill Walsh was known for making tough decisions on fan favorites as they wound down their careers. He traded Joe Montana & Ronnie Lott to name a couple. Better to trade a guy a year too early then a year too late and rebuild through the draft

Jesus Christ man...
I get what you’re saying and I get what MM is saying. He got good value for Dame before his body started to completely break down. We didn’t get caught holding the bag again.

Dame is my favorite blazer of all time and this really sucks. I wanted him to get a ring….. but Joe did good. I know this is bad taste to point out but I think a lot of people are thinking the same thug right now. We dodged a bullet.

this right here. Same thoughts

Using a serious injury to immediately celebrate someone else is definitely bad taste.

Joe got great value for Dame after pushing him out and saying he wasn't. Joe has taken too much time committing to our young core but as we heard at his presser at the deadline this year, he doesn't have a lot of autonomy.

So, yeah Joe did a great job on the Dame trade, that was true before today and today does not make it any truer... no one could have forecast this kind of injury... him breaking down more, sure but the value Joe got is in no way more today with Dame's injury and the previous blood clot situation than it was when he was playing healthy in the middle of this season.

He didn’t die. He got hurt and it wasn’t even a scary injury. He tore something. Dude has had an amazing career and has made a shit ton of money. I don’t think it’s bad to feel like we dodged a bullet. I feel bad for him but some of you are acting like the dude was in a terrible car accident.

That Dame is breaking down and had a sub par season? Yes
I think the way they've been using Dame has been asinine but he shot above his career average from three this season, he had more assists than his career average, his turnovers were right in line with his career average... as far as I can tell the only thing that was down with Dame from when he was here is his shots per game which makes sense because he's now the team's second option.

Again though, I have no idea why the Bucks haven't run a ton more sets with Dame/Giannis pick and roll action or even decoying the pick and roll to get Dame doubled near half court and then allow Giannis to operate 4 on 3. Anyway, Dame will likely be out all of next season but I'm still wishing him the best and will always be a fan of his.

I hate that Dame got hurt, or any player, but it's kinda weird how his post Portland career has shown how sometimes the grass isn't always greener and also that shit happens and can screw you over even if it's not your own doing.

I wonder, if it is a torn Achilles, if that means he's out for most of next year too.

Good for him for getting his bag when he did.

classless thread

If we're gonna go classless, let's go all the way.

Also include our 2025 pick, all the Bucks draft capital, and then whatever we can free up after the Bulls pick conditions are expired.

Bucks get two young players to build around, their own picks back so they can control their own destiny, and some expiring money in Rob. Could send Ayton instead to clear 50 million off their cap.

Simons
Tou
Deni
Giannis
Ayton

With Tisse, Clingan, Murray off the bench. Try to pick up a backup point guard and/or some bench scoring.

I am trying not to totally lose it on you MM but your making it hard cause I have accepted that your a clown ( like to keep things light hearted ) but nothing about your comment makes me go he is just trying to be funny. I am going to give you one chance to walk back your comment cause if you do not -- god have mercy on your soul cause i am going to rip you a new one on this forum and I really do not want to do it. --

Please ... Please -- Do not force my hand on this one -- ball is in your court now.

I came to the forum hoping no one would be a complete assclown and use the injury to dunk on Dame more but I guess I was asking for too much.

I don’t wanna trade Sharpe/Scoot lol and I don’t think he would want to come here. Let’s just win the lottery instead.

Rivers is a shit coach.

Joe improved this franchise when he traded Dame. It sucks ass he got hurt, but imagine had we held onto him and didn’t get Camara, Deni, Scoot, Clingan and all the picks.
Kudos, Joe. Dame should never have demanded a trade
He made the hard move a hatchet man is supposed to, but he got us value in return, which other hatchet men we've had before didn't do.

You’re

Now, first and foremost, I am a fan of the name on the front of the jersey. Dame was amazing when he was here and got ZERO help from Olshey. However, he decided to say fuck you to the team and its fan base. Those of you that still support him, great. Like Clyde when he asked for a trade, Dame died to me when that happened. I’m not happy that he got injured, but I’m damn happy Joe was able to salvage a good return for him. Feel free to lose it if that will help you in any way. I’ll even act offended if you want me to

Nobody said he died. This is a horrible thing for someone to have to go through. Money doesn't change that.

A big part of the future of this team hinges on the Bucks being bad between 2028-2030. Dame getting hurt plays a big part of how that future is shaped. I think it's normal for Blazer fans to talk about how his injury impacts our team.

Jesus Christ man...

I didn’t read MM’s post in that way Bones. None of us wish ill towards Dame. In hindsight, we have a brighter future with the additions and without being strapped with such a huge salary. Let’s all say our prayers for (Blazer for life) Dame and hope he, with the help of God above, recovers soon!

The Bucks look bad! Really bad. I too place most of the blame on poor coaching

The Bucks look bad because of multiple reasons, one of them (the main one) is roster construction. They had an identity with an excellent perimeter defender backed up by a monster interior defender - instead of surrounding them with shooting and secondary playmaking, they changed the identity of the team for the promise of an elite offense/shooting and playmaking while losing their elite perimeter defense. They were hoping that Dame and Giannis would gel and their offense will overcome the loss of defense on the perimeter. Unfortunately for them, it did not happen and the rest of the roster aged or was injured (Middleton) and is no longer have an identity they can rely on. Subpar coaching does not help - but I do not know if any coach in the world would be able to do something with this version (before injury) of Dame, Giannis and the rest of the roster the Bucks have.
