I'd beg to differ with you on the talent part, the scouts saw what they saw, a guy who holds on to the ball too long, doesn't make reads, isn't super athletic and throws a ton of check down routes. He isn't excellent at anything according to the draft 'experts' and then you add in the drama surrounding him/Neon and it's easy to see why teams don't want the headache.

Sanders was over rated by the media. He was mid level talent and then you add in his arrogance to not do Pro day, senior bowl and cocky enough to come to interviews unprepared or entitled made him drop even further.

He assumed his name carried more weight than it did. Media and his dad hyped him up but in the end it’s the talent you’re judged on.

I wish nothing but the best for him. I hope he is humbled, changes his attitude and becomes a superstar QB.

Sanders was a very good college QB. Nothing to be ashamed of. Just not worthy of having his number retired. That was worse than the Blazers retiring Loyd Neal's number. (Whom I idealized as a kid )

As for being good in the NFL, who knows? I personally don't see him being a full-time starter. He reminds me a little of Johnny Manziel. A guy who won games by scrambling all over the place and making crazy throws for TDs. Exciting plays for sure, but you need more than that. I have seen much better college QBs fail in the League. If he were in last year's class, no one would be thinking he dropped. But this class was horrible.

I think NIL also hurt him - he's getting big endorsement $ in college so just assumes he's going to get similar star treatment entering the NFL.

    Thats marketing and NIL.
There have been maybe outstanding qb’s that were drafted in later round because they were thought to be not worth a high pick.

I've listened and read to quite a few draft 'experts' over the past few months and they all kind of came to the same conclusion on him. Sanders made some great plays but most of his 'big' plays come on downfield throws where guys are wide open, or check downs to a WR like Hunter where Hunter ended up doing most of the work. I never once watched Sanders play and thought he was a great QB, but only time will tell.

Sanders had a bad o line and run game last year.

I think he will be better than all this hate he has received. Maybe not a superstar but I think he can be an Andy Dalton. The real test will be if guys in the locker room consider him a leader in the NFL. I'm not so sure.

The thing with Sanders was he would rather take a sack then throw the ball away and lower his completion percentage.

His personality screams wide receiver. The NFL prefers quiet guys over flamboyant guys at QB. (There’s a lot I’m leaving unsaid here because it would involve OT topics)

One of the most important attributes scouts and executives look for in a qb is leadership ability and a team guy. Him falling could be the best thing to happen to him as he's young and will now be out from underneath pop. I want Dillion Duck to win the back up position and eventually starter position.

I just can't see Gabriel becoming anything. I think he will be out of the league in 4 years.
