End of one hell of an era for the Spurs. Good on Pop to value his health. Wish him nothing but the best.

If a mod would fix the typo in my thread title, that would be appreciated.

Not surprising with his health. I will always think it's funny that Rodman referred to him as "boner" in his book. One of the greatest coaches of all time.

I wonder if they’ll make the interim coach permanent now, or if they open a search?

My 2nd favorite team that had my favorite players on it. Pop is a legend. One of the best to ever do it.

funny I thought it was such an ahole deal when he fired the coach the year David Robinson got hurt so they tanked that year so they could get Tim Duncan. I hated the guy thought he would fail, boy was I wrong.

BTW- stupid story I lived next door to Don Nelson ex GS coach in Maui. I managed the Nani Kai which is literally next door. I Saw Nelson and Pop out back a couple of times. Shocker his house was amazing right on beach. He and his daughter also owned wedding venue next door.

Only two current NBA head coaches were coaching before COVID. Spoelstra in 2008 and Kerr in 2014.

Also crazy that Thibbs on his 3rd NBA team, after bouncing around in Chicago and Minnesota, is the 3rd longest tenured coach.

Billups has the 9th longest tenure.
