Yeah I think people always underestimate the decline that happens with superstar players as they age.

If he can't take the blame for losing, he also can't take the credit for winning.

Yeah, it is a team that wins championships but Lebron has consistently done what he could to stack his team to lower the burden on him. Still has a ton of failures.

Not saying he isn't a great player, but I just don't put him in that same category of competitor/winner as Jordan.

Lebron is a great player. Jordan is a killer/winner.

Happened here with Dame too when we traded him.

Super controversial around here, but I also liked Kobe as a ball player more than LeBron too.

The vast majority of die-hard Laker fans would definitely agree with you.

I'm not sure it's all about the age. Those older stars also tend to have cap-choking salaries that crowd out solid role players....theory. I checked bbref to see if that theory was valid....maybe yes; maybe no. But looking at total guaranteed contracts, which I haven't paid attention to lately was kind of eye-opening

by the way, bbref doesn't count those green player options toward total guaranteed salary. I doubt too many of those players will actually opt out. I mean, anybody think Tatum will opt out of 71.5M?

“Blaming” or sharing the responsibility? It’s basically his way of saying that they didn’t lose BECAUSE of him and Luka. Can’t really argue that. He has showered his teammates with praise his entire career. Your hate for this guy is laughable son.

What you just described is called blaming everyone else.

You don't "share" negative things with other people. That is called "deflecting".

It's not hate. This is the kind of behavior that I expect of him.

If my daughters did this I would have a serious talk with them.

If the media was blaming the best players in the game(your daughters) I would HOPEyou would have taught them to stand up for themselves. And if they were the best players ever, I’m quite sure they couldn’t have gotten to that point without learning that lesson early on.

If your daughter said that the other team was responsible for their win and her team along with her were responsible for their loss, you would have to have a serious talk with her??? Like for real??? I mean it's cool to take personal responsibility for your part and I didn't hear LeBron shirking that responsibility at all, he was just talking about the team nature of the sport and the fact that there are always ten guys playing that are taking part in successes and failures.

I've never seen LeBron take full credit for a victory but I have seen him (after the Dallas championship series) irrationally take full blame for a series loss. All he says in this snippet of a podcast is that he's learned the lesson not to do that, so he doesn't lose sleep over it anymore. Somehow you have a problem with that.

It's just mind boggling the pretzels some people will tie themselves into to justify the fact that they will never give LeBron credit for being the kind of stand up athlete and great teammate that he is. Blows my mind.

If LeBron were a Blazer he would be great!

    He's not so he sucks.

Are you saying we like all our players? Because we have a long list of Blazers (past and current) that proves otherwise.

If my daughter said to a reporter what LeBron said in the same context as above I would have a serious talk with her.

That is deflecting responsibility and we don't do that.

That said, I wouldn't have to worry about that because my kids would take responsibility for their part rather than publicly deflecting responsibility toward their teammates the way LeBron did.

You don't have to throw your teammates under the bus to stand up for yourself.

Yeah, I rarely look at it either. Other than to see if a player is set for life, it seems pointless. The only thing that matters is
how much they make in a specific year and how it relates to trades and cap space.
