No, there wasnt talk about that. There were clueless idiots who brought up his name as if he had 0.00000000000001% chance of even remotely having the money.
I don’t doubt it, but realistically I’m not sure it would actually come from a relocation. Lebron is wealthy enough to own a sports team. There have been reports of him wanting to own an NBA team like MJ when he retires, and there have been reports of the city of Las Vegas being a possible location for an NBA team if there were any market changes in the league expansion or relocation; as well as being reported that LeBron himself would want to own a team in Vegas specifically. I do legitimately think that lebrons retirement and interest will be a determining factor in expansion.
Well it seems like a natural now that he’s getting his own jet. He can fly in for a game anytime he wants
Let's see: A team made up entirely of white guys. All min contracts whose paychecks bounce every month Zero dollars spent on arena upkeep Vapid Bottle Blonde younger white women screaming at press conferences that the Blazers have never lost a game while owned by Trump and any reports to the contrary is fake news lower bowl seats filled exclusively with billionaires rooting for the other teams After every game, forces all fans to say "thank you".
Well the Blazers up for grabs then along with a few buddies I'd say it's Dame Time!!! You know he wants to own at least a part of this team. He should call Bron and Melo!
I'm convinced that Bron will be the face of the Vegas expansion team... that's what he wants and I think that LeBron still playing is why Silver said he is waiting on the expansion process. Not a conspiracy theory, just a theory. It's great marketing for the league to have a former player as an owner, showing just what the league can do for their players. I'm sure there are a lot of ultra rich people calling each other right now and trying to figure out a face for the team. Dame would be a very marketable "owner".
Just so we're all clear this is a great day to be a Blazers fan. Silver came out not last summer but the summer before and said he has no interest in letting any historic NBA franchise relocate and basically pointed to the bad press that the Sonics move brought to the league. The league will want a commitment from the new owner/owners that they won't pull a Clay Bennett... hopefully Vulcan will too. I do not expect this process to be drawn out. I think we'll have new owners soon but I think I may have posted this same sentiment in late 2018... so as always, what the fuck do I know? The answer is, not much.
Im pretty sure they have a good idea who the new owner is. They’re just letting the “process” play out
Yeah man, I was thinking the same thing. The team has basically been for sale for almost 7 years, so when I saw this announcement I thought that they might actually have a sale lined up too. The other possibility that I'm thinking of is that they want an all out auction starting today pitting parties against each other who have already shown interest.
