The court proceedings kicked off on May 5 when the judge and attorneys were tasked with finding an impartial jury, which proved difficult because all but one individuals was familiar with the case. In fact, most of those potential jurors had already seen the most "damning" piece of evidence, as described by prosecutors. The evidence, footage of Diddy beating Cassie Ventura in a hotel hallway, was controversial as defense wanted it thrown out. The judge is allowing the video to be admitted. While Diddy took “responsibility” for his actions in the footage at the of its release by CNN, his attorneys claimed more recently that it was “altered, manipulated, sped-up, and edited to be out of sequence,” arguing it was inadmissible in court. CNN denies the footage was altered. "It is not evidence of sex trafficking. It is evidence of domestic violence," the defense team claimed, admitting the beating was “horrible, dehumanizing violence." Cassie is set to take the stand on the latter half of Monday. Did Sean Combs have any involvement in Christopher Wallace’s death? I wouldn’t be surprised if it ever were known that he did.
The more evidence that comes out involving Combs’ tendency for violence the more I’m going to speculate the legitimacy of his involvement in the deaths of Biggie and/or Pac (which has been speculated by people for a long time, long before these charges were even placed) There was always talk about BIG wanting to step away from Bad Boy Records, and at that point BIG kind of was Bad Boy Records; even if the Label had other well known clients. I could see Combs feeling like he helped make Wallace successful; Wallace thinks he made Combs successful, or doesn’t feel like he needs Bad Boy Records.
