To be fair, the Drexler Blazers were far more of a run-n-gun team than our current iteration, and Duckworth was far fatter than Queen...

That's why Duck only played the first few minutes of quarters. The offense went through him for a few easy baskets, but he got gassed quick and became a liability.
Queen just doesn't fit, IMO. Tweener size, slow feet, no defense and no way he plays alongside DC.
I think there are guys that can contribute right away at 11 and solve other weaknesses. He's a good passer and decent scorer, but I don't think that's enough to justify using a semi-high pick.
I think most picks after 10-ish come down to preferences and opinions. Nothing is guaranteed. I would prefer if the guy we get at 11 hits, he hits in areas of weakness. I just don't think Queen does that.

You don't draft for fit, which is what Cronin just said last night. I believe at you need to offer different looks at the center position. Queen would give you something very different than Clingan.

Steven Adams offers something very different than Sengun. Queen is obviously very talented. All players at 11 will have glaring flaws.

Every time I see this thread I just can't stop thinking about how somebody decided to name their son a name which sounds so close to Dairy Queen.

That must have been part of the plan, right?

Agree to disagree. I like the idea of having centers that offer something different, but I think the meat and potatoes for a big should be defense and rebounding. You can get playmakers and scoring from other positions. Otherwise, we're in the same spot we were with Meyers Leonard as our back center.

Let's not start talking about giving funny names to kids. My old acquaintance's Mike Hawk and Clint Torres would feel bad. True story

I watched him play in person in the ncaa tournament this year. I was super impressed with the fluidity of his movement. My only knock on him was that I didn’t think he used his size as well as he could. I think he could be a good piece of a frontline rotation. I would like the pick personally but it is hard to say how he will project. He might translate really well into the modern game but I would like to see him do a better job of boxing out. He just doesn’t seem like a bruiser to me when in watched him.

That's terrific. I feel like there's no way he'll slide to 11. I'd move up.

Love Queen with the ball, really dislike how he plays without it. He plays rather soft, he is lackluster defensively, and his screening makes Ayton look like a brick wall.

He plays differently than JJ Hickson, but I thought that was an interesting comp as I think he might produce a similar overall effect. Honestly, he doesn't quite seem like a Cronin type.

If the Blazers draft him, I hope they are able to flip the switch because the talent is certainly there.

Might want to not comment on the draft after last year's debacle you made yourself to be...

Saw today your guy Queen finished almost dead last in every single athletic test at the combine and shot like shit in the shooting drills. I was just trying to share what I heard.

The highlights of him in college show me that he wouldn't finish most of those dunks in the nba, they'd shove it down his throat in the paint...Toumani Ayton or Clingan would shut this kid down

Lol you kept replying to everyone's post and telling them to stop discussing the draft because you thought it sucked - an opinion you borrowed from Bill Simmons. You kept raining on people's parade.

I think getting Clingan to add to our core was valuable. You saying I'm wrong?

Agreed, but how much slower? I already heard he had conditioning issues. Could make it more likely that he'll slip now.
