Can't see Timberwolves beating OKC but hope they do.

I can, I actually am tempted to say that the Wolves will win it this year.

Would Westbrook be a good mentor for Scoot?

    If yes, go for it.

I didn't realize how cheap his contract was in Denver.

If we can get him for a little more than that, then yes, get him.

In the 2024-2025 NBA season, Russell Westbrook's base salary with the Denver Nuggets is $3,303,771.
    Contract Details:

    • Westbrook signed a two-year, $6.8 million contract with the Nuggets in July 2024.
    • The deal includes a player option for the 2025-26 season, worth $3,468,960.
    • If he exercises his player option, he'll earn that amount in the 2025-26 season.
    • If he declines the option, he will become an unrestricted free agent in 2026.

Should that even be called a sweepstakes?

I don't like that we are on that list. Not at all.

If you ask me Westbrook and his temperament would be awesome for this team. Not just scoot but think about Sharpe. He could very well teach them a bunch and it might be just the type of personality that takes them a bit higher.

For a chance to get the rights to (insert projected #1 pick in next year's draft here).

Would be fun to see Knicks/Wolves after the win-win trade they made before this season.

Cue up the “are those stats good?” to a whole other level if he were on this team. No thanks.

I'd rather we pay Banton - as well as a couple other dozen free agents first.

Id want Scoot to stay away from Westbrook - not try to "learn" anything from him.

Hopefully Scoot can be HALF the player Westbrook has been over the course of his career.

Westbrook is a generational athlete no doubt. If he had the mental abilities, skills, or IQ of a player like CJ or Ant, he'd have been a top5 PG.

But the question wasn't about Westbrook's abilities as a player - it was Westbrook teaching and mentoring Scoot. Literally any borderline all-star PG, Mo Williams, even Steve Blake, let alone Billups - all could teach Scoot 100x better than Westbrook.

What would Westbrook even tell Scoot?

"Scoot, go run faster than anybody else, jack up horrible shots, dribble for 20 seconds, steal rebounds from teammates"
