Trying to figure out which young blazer fan we can get to go viral as the next "Hawk Tuah" so we can create a crypto currency and raise enough money to buy them ourselves. It's almost too easy...
It’s like a backwards Short. Can I get a loan and buy the team then sell the team a couple months later and keep the profit?
Or if that's not to your liking... OR, but seriously how can you not like that one...how about this one?
He may want the team, but he also has to have the resources to pay for it, outbid other potential owners, and have league approval. And I really doubt the league would approve people who are not exactly wealthy enough to own a billion dollar sports entity. The NBA isn't about to have the team go up for sale, just to have it bought by the people who currently are running things, especially when there are *actual* billionaires who would be interested in buying the team and wouldn't have to run the team on the cheap. It's a really bad look for the league to have a team go from one of the wealthiest owners in the NBA (Paul Allen), to dirt poor (by NBA standards) in Bert Kolde. He might want to have something to do with running the team, but like Merritt Paulson, he ain't got the cheddar and the league isn't about to OK someone with very little resources (vs someone who is worth 10-50 billion) buy the team.
Elon Musk gets 8 Million dollars daily of yours, mine, and everyone in this forum's tax dollars. 8. MILLION. DAILY. I'm gonna count THE FUCK outta that shit.
Larry Ellison would be like having Paul Allen as owner. He buys want he wants. And look out if he wanted a championship...He's I believe wealthier than Ballmer, I believe.
The league doesn't have to approve or disapprove anything. Their rules explicitly say the team can't be bought leveraged (with debt) A buyer needs cash to buy the team. Bert doesn't have enough to make a dent. At best he could find some other wealthy person to buy it and he runs it but he'd never be the primary owner. It's 3-5 billion needed to buy the team. It's like some common 16 year old saying they want to buy a Ferrari tomorrow. Well great who's actually buying that?
No way trump would attend a trailblazer basketball game..... Today's 80 was yesterday's 65....Im pushing 75 and feel no older than 60. If That...
Yes I know NBA votes on owners...... My point was it won't ever even get to the level of the NBA voting as Bert has no ability to get a sale far enough to get to that level. Bert doesn't have the financial ability to ever get in a position where the NBA would approve or disapprove him as an owner. The NBA wouldn't get involved until there was an accepted sales agreement. Bert doesn't have an ability to enter into such an agreement. Its like talking about how the NBA would vote to approve HCP to be an NBA owner.
Travis and Jason Kelce just bought an indoor football team. Maybe they can also buy the Blazers and we'll get Taylor Swift sitting court side
