Exactly. It’s funny because CC is trying to moderate this situation (his job) but Strenuus IS the situation. That’s a problem.

What a typical Aldo take. Dame could only dream of the kind of squad that Halliburton has around him... Nesmith, Nembhard, Siakam and Turner are arguably better when considering both ends of the court than anyone Dame played with here after LaMarcus left and they blew the whole thing up. Undoubtedly even when we had Aldridge we never had guys off the bench like Toppin, McConnell or Mathurin.

That's not me saying that Dame ever had the well rounded game that Halliburton is showing, to go along with his clutch play but these Pacers would have smoked any team that we put around Dame the entire time he was here.

Didn’t our current team smoke these Pacers? And people said we couldn’t beat the good teams...

to be fair, this pacers team around hali is above and beyond better than our wcf team.

but this run by hali is historical, took overrated level personal

Difference is Haliburton doesn't pound the ball and iso the other team while being a horrific defender.

Haliburton certainly has better teammates too. But it's just near impossible to construct a team to contend with a player like Dame as your star. Look at him paired with arguably the best player in the world and they've been no more successful than Dame was in PDX.

Swap a healthy Dame with Haliburton and are the Pacers better? I suspect they'd be MUCH worse.

Haliburton, Siakam, and coach Rick have done a great job of building an offense that gets everybody involved but that the stars can score when needed. Put an ISO player like Dame in command with horrible D and it's a totally different team.

I think if you give Dame Siakam and Carlisle he could do some things.

Gianna's just flat out isn't a good teammate. The dude can't run the pick and roll with Dame freaking Lillard.

    To fight fires.

Though as poster I have...uh...fanned some flames myself, though to put out some fires in another respect on more than one occasion.

I guess you could say I have had some pretty explosive moments here and there as a poster. My moderating abilities were questioned because of that. Though, I have never let my personal posts get in the way of my moderating.

Stren can be a bit snarky or sardonic sometimes in his posts as a poster. I think he's just soured since the rebuild began and Dame left. Which I kind of get. I don't really take his crankiness seriously (though I do see it has upset some of you) because I have met the guy. I think he is a good moderator and a good dude and he has done a lot for this forum and cares for this forum. He has just lost care for the NBA and lost patience for the Blazers.

He refuses to pass the ball the Dame. It was so frustrating watching. If they played through each other they would win. Perhaps they just needed the right coach to get that through to them? Too late now though, I guess.

False, Giannis has won the MVP and was 3rd this year.
